How do you expedite i765?

Can we ask to expedite i765 in the initial package we send? And how do we go about doing that?

SSN is required for health insurance enrollment so the earlier the better due to medical reasons

SSN is not required to add your immigrant dependents to your health insurance or for an AOS applicant to get insurance from the marketplace.  USCIS knows this, so that reason for expedite will not work.  Search VJ for posts about health insurance and you will find testimonies from many members who successfully got coverage for their immigrant relatives without SSN.

Which insurance plans? What would be needed in place of ssn

Some VJ members notified their provider to use a dummy/placeholder SSN until their dependents get their actual SSN.  Providing birth date can also work.  Here's what the IRS says -- https://www.irs.gov/affordable-care-act/questions-and-answers-about-reporting-social-security-numbers-to-your-health-insurance-company

I don't have an SSN and my husband enrolled me as a dependent of his health insurance without any issues. We use Cigna.

How? The health insurance says without SSN they cannot? Is there anything else that can be done?

Escalate your request to a supervisor and reference the IRS link that @Chancy provided below. Do the same with your HR department.

Depends on who you were originally talking to about enrolling your spouse in your health insurance.

 

In my case, my husband talked only to the HR department at his employer. They enrolled me as his health insurance dependent without issues. If you had the same experience, try again with your employer's HR department first (as you can talk to them face to face) and escalate to a supervisor if needed. If that doesn't work, contact the insurer yourself and escalate to a supervisor.

I had my ITIN done before using my passport. It's easy to get.
