Hello guys,

I am starting the process  to bring my spouse here.  What are the steps? What form should I file? How much are the filling fees?

Regards,

You can start by reading and learning about the process using this guide, and then asking questions.  The immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, PLANNING, time, patience, and money.  Good luck.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thanks for your reply.. the thing is that I went to see an organization that is supposed to help me file. They ask $535 for the i130  $750 for uscis and another $750 for NVC.

And of course they will charge to file on my behalf. Are they right?

My husband and I used Rapid Visa, they only asked us to pay them for their services, all other fees were paid on USCIS/NVC websites. I can't speak for whatever organization you're looking at, but I would assume it would be the same way

Looks like the two $750 fees are for the organization's services.  You are not required to hire any organization to help you.  If you don't feel confident doing it yourself, start here.  https://www.visajourney.com/partners/

Hiring anyone isn't a necessary step if you can follow the USCIS directions for each form.  In fact there is much evidence and cases here that showing cases being slowed down and even mis filed from 3rd parties. There are plenty of resources for DIY on this forum and others.  Even some cases involving deportation can be done yourself.  Start by reading the guides and asking questions.

Seconding what both @pushbrk and @Paul & Mary said, unless you are confident that you can not do this on your own, there is no need to hire a 3rd party to file for you. The process (while slow at some points) is fairly straight forward.

This forum is full of DIY applicants, and it's almost certain any question you might have has come up before and answered here. It's a wealth of knowledge if you are willing to take the time and read it.

Best of luck on your new journey.

Wait... you had your naturalization interview in October, and asked here if you needed to bring your spouse to the interview. And now you want to petition for your spouse? Is this a different spouse? That was quick...

Make sure that you are financially able to sponsor 3 immigrants: spouse, mother and sibling.

Thanks for your concern but I am asking for a friend who is not familiar with this forum and I don’t want to give him false information.

thanks,

Your "friend(s)" can get a free account here and ask directly.  No one here wants to play the "telephone" game ;)
