And hey... if we wanted to really end debate about whether it was an insurrection or not, we could launch an investigation. Except that the Republicans Trumpists who either supported or conveniently ignored the insurrection voted an investigation down.

Yes, I seem to recall Trump was impeached over the so-called insurrection.  And it failed, again, because just like the first time, there was no wrongdoing to impeach him for.  But you gotta give the dems a slow clap for never stopping trying, even when they had zilch.  There was no more insurrection on 6 Jan 2021 than there was in 2020 all across America (including DC, when it was set afire multiple times).  But if one elects to believe such nonsense, they are free to do so.

Impeachment didn’t fail. Impeachment succeeded. He is the only President ever to be impeached twice.

 

Conviction, however, did fail. On a mostly party line vote. Imagine your co-conspirators also being on your jury. (but hey, that’s how the impeachment process works, so ok.)

 

What in your mind would have happened if your “protesters” had gotten their hands on, say, Nancy Pelosi? Or Mike Pence? Would zip-tie handcuff guy have just walked away? Would anything have come of the “hang Mike Pence” chants?

He darn near lost Texas. Texas under Trump has never been more blue. (still red of course, but coursing blue) Hence, the rush to suppress Texas voters. There’s a very good chance of Texas going blue in 2020 or 2024.

I remember when our operators found out about the suit to toss their drive-thru votes.  Night shift guys, oil/chem plants, hit the drive-thru in Pasadena at the courthouse by the hundreds.

 

The whole channel was up in arms.  Calls at high levels were made.  I made a WTH are you people thinking call myself.  It is a guarantee those guys won’t forget.  There was no reason for it either.  You had to drive up, show your license and registration card, and vote with a dang photo ID just like you vote in person anywhere else.

 

Whatever Texas is becoming - doing that to union ship channel operators and employees, thousands of them, trims a big demographic out of the R column.  There was no, none reason for that lawsuit.
