I'm planning to apply for I-130 through DCF for my wife from India.

- I have been residing here for over the past 6 months and am a USC.

- I have received a job offer from the US and would like to go there asap along with my wife, and would like to apply for the green card for her at the consulate in Mumbai.

- I understand that I need permission from the consulate in order to be able to apply at the consulate.

I'm planning to attach my job offer letter in my email requesting for consular processing. Do I need to include any other documents?

Thanks in advance,

Details of the the job offer and how it will create a financial burden on you to maintain 2 households.  Proof you are working in India and that you are at least a legal resident there as well is usually helpful.

Agree with @Paul & Mary

The letter is good. And proof of local residency, as well, and for how long (there is usually a minimum period of residency, e.g. 6 months).

Generally Be Prepared To:

Say where you officially currently reside.

Establish that you are currently resident in India (not just visiting as a short-term tourist). You don't HAVE to be working there, but if you are that is great.

Show evidence of the job offer, and the urgent need to be in the US.

Show taxes showing where you say you are resident (if you needed to file taxes, based solely on income, not where you reside, in other words, you still need to file taxes if abroad, if your income exceeds the required amount to file.)

Show sufficient income (or liquid assets) for spouse sponsorship, or be prepared to get a joint-sponsor.

Share where you plan to live once you return to the US.

P.S. Have lived/worked in India (Mumbai & Delhi), and did DCF, as well (but not in India).

Why this for the profile pic?  Often in movies and on TV when they show Hawaii they show this beach/view. So, instead of doing Kauai or some other locale, we decided to do here, so that whenever some show shows Hawaii and this view, we will see where we were married.
