Well we got to NY last week and due to the fact that my son is nearly 14 and drives me potty i chucked him at the nearest school and left him to fend for himself (not really but that how it seems to my family when i tell them how quick i got him in there hahaha).

My son came from a boys only grammer school in essex to a big ole mixed sex school in upstate ny.

He loves the school as he has study periods every day (good excuse to use that accent of his on the local ladies apparently).

He has learnt more about England and London inparticular since he started school in NY (most of it lies as I know for a fact that we dont hang, draw and quarter people no more in london (well i think not although i may be wrong)).

He has been giving english language lessons to a couple of jocks who feel it will improve their chances of getting dates this coming june when they have their end of middleschool dance.

He loves the school bus ride (even though he looks half dead at 6:30am when it picks him up), he even says the lunches are nice (what is wrong with this kid eh?)

He is 2 years above all the kids in his french group and they laugh at his cockney accent when he speaks french in class.

He has a date for Friday night but no money to go with so he is creeping around asking for chores (hope he loves raking leaves as we have a acre or so for him to do hahahaha)

Anyway I just thought I would write this so that if any of you have kids coming into the education system out in the US you can see that it is ok and aint as bad as I thought it would be

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Glad to hear your son is doing well in school. :)

My son had started middle school at age 11 1/2 here back in August 2002. He had the fear that he would not be accepted because he was Canadian (no idea where that came from). Anyhow he had tons of friends in no time. The teacher in math class would ask for his assistance when it came to her teaching a bit of the metric system to the class and French has been a breeze for him because he had taken it in Canada. He would also be asked questions about Canada.

That's cute about the date.

14 yrs old and quite the ladies man already :D good for him. I am glad he is being accpeted and is fitting in well.

I remember when I was in 7th or 8th grade, we had a english boy come into the school.. he was a pain and I could tell he was a spoil brat :lol: back in england..he was selfish. we called him a **.. :lol::lol: and he said I am not a cigerette :lol::lol::lol: I know that is what the English call them :D

I guess he just tried hard to fit in but seems like your son is just being himself and is fitting if just fine :)

:thumbs::thumbs: to your son :D
