Complaint against NVC (split)

nvc has stopped my spouses process by requesting my tax transcript knowing that the IRS announced that they will be holding 29 million tax returns and intend on processing them manually and so i submitted a copy of my tax return that i filed with the IRS. and so far NVC still hasnt viewed or accepted my submitted document. one week after they stopped the process they email me saying that they will review my document "VERY SOON". so how long is very soon because its been 3 weeks since that email. is there a time frame on how long they are allowed to hold/delay a persons petition? ive also read that NVC can accept other tax forms if the tax transcript isnt available and in that case why did they stop the process because my tax return was already submitted but they still requested my tax transcript. whats in the tax transcript that they need that they cant get out of a persons tax return? i want to file a complaint against NVC for this delay and a complaint against the employee having that employee fired. im a US citizen making my spouses visa IR1 (PRIORITY) and that my spouses process shouldnt be stopping ( well not for 1 month) delaying the process of the already delays. wow. can NVC get any worse than it already is? who ever is in charge of this agency may need to step down because this person isnt making sure of any more delays for a persons petition isnt stacking up

Huh?  LOL, of course they are allowed to ask for tax transcripts, and no there aren't any time frame limits.

Good luck in trying to get an NVC employee fired because you've been waiting 3 weeks.  :pop:

Until they are satisfied

Three weeks ain't nothing.   Wait until you get document qualified and it takes 6 mos to 2 yrs to get a scheduled interview.

YMMV

NVC’s published processing times show that they are currently reviewing documents submitted on April 24:

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html

There is an option to add comments to the documents you upload. That might be appropriate in this case, e.g. explaining in the comment that the transcript is not currently available and instead you are submitting a copy of the return that was submitted along with all applicable forms, schedules, 1099s, W-2s etc. as specified in the I-864 instructions.

why isnt 3 weeks nothing? its maybe no one is complaining thats why NVC is doing whatever they want and how long they want. once people complain the 3 weeks would be too long.

oh and i did add comments. i was told that whenever i submit a document for whatever day then that will be my processing day. for example june 2 i submitted a document. i would then have to wait for the NVC processing timeframe to get to that date they are reviewing

Your frustration is understandable, no one likes to wait to be reunited with their loved ones. The immigration process was never famous for being fast and add the pandemic on top of all that and suddenly delays become more comprehendible.

That being said, with your delay only being 3 weeks it is very likely that filing a complaint wont do anything to speed up your process. If you have convinced yourself that a formal complaint is the path you want to go down, consider speaking to an immigration attorney first, on the off-chance you actually further delay your case by doing so.

Wishing you the best of luck.

That sounds logical to me. Good luck and I hope your documents are accepted soon.

  • 4 weeks later...

for those who say 3 weeks isnt long enough well what do you all say that thety have delayed it for another month after requesting more documents where they have the information already but are being really picky about the information they want? so can you see that the NVC is playing around with peoples petition? they are just doing things to piss people knowing that  theres  really nothing that we can do about it. so they think. this is why people need to open up and not be scared of them. once its known of what the NVC is constantly doing then there can be changes done to fix the problem

I think you might be reading in to things too much.

There are a lot of active applications which all deserve to be given proper attention and then low and behold there was a global pandemic which delayed everything. The sooner you realize that this process is going to take time, the sooner you will find peace.
