How long after paying fees do you get the email

How long after you pay the visa application fee (DS160) do you get the email saying you can now schedule the interview?

I am wondering the same thing! My case is ready and we have paid the fee and the system shows we can now book the appointment...but we still haven't received  the package 3 email from them 😞

You are suppossed to wait for the email from the embassy before paying the visa application fee. If your case has been in ready status for a while and you still haven't received an email, I recommend emailing them at visasbkkiv@state.gov to check on the status of your case.

We got this email after we paid. So, we scheduled an interview. First available wasn’t until the end of July anyway.
