Is job offer grounds for expedited visa approval???

I am currently waiting on the 2nd NOA from the Nebraska processing center, which from everything I've read and the timelines of other members, should be one of the faster processing centers. But we haven't heard anything and we originally filed in September 2020. I (the petitioner) accepted a job offer and will start in October in the States. We thought that should give us time to have the visa, but I'm starting to get worried. If I try to submit an inquiry it says the case is still within normal processing times. Is there a way that a job offer could be grounds to ask for a (slightly) expedited decision? Or do we just have to wait and hope for the best?

If it says it’s within normal processing times it’s probably been moved elsewhere. They don’t notify you when it is moved. Apparently all online receipts say Nebraska. You need to call USCIS or use the ask Emma and say “live agent” and ask where your case is. It’s unfortunate but happens to almost everyone. 😕

Found love, thought I wanted this path, two years later realized my partner was not worth all the stress 😁

With a K-1 and the work authorization taking a long time, I am not sure October is even feasible.

Good luck

Ugggh I bet that is what happened then. We filled online and the original notice says Nebraska. I'll try to contact them today. Thanks!

Sorry, I had updated my timeline, but not my profile from when we were thinking of filing a K1 visa. We ended up getting married in Spain in August of 2020 and filled an I-130 visa online. I thought the Spain consulate didn't do DCF visas anymore. Is that correct? Either way, if we already filed in the states, I can't change it, right?

They are separate processes.

DCF is still available for emergency issues, like  job/ transfer.

Does the Madrid embassy still do DCF? I looked into that before filing in September, but couldn't find any evidence that they were still processing those. Sorry for all of the questions, but if you have any info or know what websites I can go to to find out more information, I would welcome any help!

All Consulates have provided what we call DCF for exceptional circumstances, what might be call regular DCF was stopped. This only applied to certain Consulates and not sure Spain was one of them.

Did you make sure that it's in Nebraska? A bunch of us got the NOA1 from Nebraska and our cases are mostly in other centers (mine is California). If your case is actually in Nebraska, you could do a request for service since it would be past the USCIS processing times estimate.

I just found out my I-130 Petition (originally filled online and NOA 1 received 09/19/2020) was transferred from the Nebraska center to the Potomac center. I accepted a job in Texas that I am supposed to start on October 11, 2021. I know that "severe financial loss" is grounds for expedited processing. Is it possible to ask for it to be expedited based on the grounds of the financial loss that we would incur if I were unable to accept and start the job?

Yes it's definitely worth asking. Worst case scenario is they say no. It won't negatively affect the petition or delay it at all.

I think part of the reason they put such LONG processing time estimates is to AVOID having to accept service requests/avoid getting sued (which you can do too, usually very effective but costly).

Yes as we have all found out, unfortunately!

Sometimes temporary separation from spouses is an unavoidable part of the process.....
