Hey Naganda!

1. Cover letter isn't required but very helpful to the officer going through all the stuff you're sending in.

2. Credit card statements and the bank statements must cover everything from the adjustment of status to the removal of condition

3. Where to send

https://www.uscis.gov/i-751-direct-filing-addresses

4. Utility bills preferred to be in both of your names

5. You better write on the back of the pictures (olace/date/names of the people mentioned on that picture/relationship to you or your spouse

6. You don't need to send 2 checks, one with both fees enough, you can also pay with the credit card by filling out and attaching it to the top of your I751 application the form called G1450 (credit card authorization form)

Now, you have no taxes together which is extremely important, you also don't have affidavits (sworn and notarized) to your relationship from friends and family, which is required,

hope it helps and sorry for the mess

Not 100% true. Affidavits are not required and are actually weak evidence.

200% agree!!!!

I bought an album, printed out 100 pictures put them together (like a family album) and below signed all dates/events/names/relationship under each photo

Be sure to submit only images on sheets of paper do not submit anything in a binder. It is okay to scan page of a wedding album and submit but not okay to submit something bound together in a binder or book form.

Please don't advise something if you do NOT know

Sworn affidavits ftom at least 2  people that know you and your marriage are clear requirement for I751 form

Open Instructions for Petition to

Remove Conditions on Residence (uscis official form)

Go to page 6 paragraph 5 and you will be surprised to see it on there.....

Incorrect. That list also includes birth certificates of children for couples that have kids together - by your logic, couples not sending them would be failing to meet a requirement. That's not the case at all.

The list of documents in the instructions is a guide. For couples with strong evidence of cohabitation and financial commingling, affidavits are completely immaterial. For couples that for some reason don't have much to show, affidavits might be one of the few things they can submit to strengthen their case. But again, not a requirement and no one weakens their case by not submitting them.

The advice of gathering all pictures in the family album I got from an immigration officer who conducted my adjustment of status interview and who a few years later  stamped my passport with one year stem when my green card got expired, so just trying to help

The couple definitely may not have kids together, and then there is no need to send birth certificates, but the same couple definitely have people that know them know their marriage and then that's what uscis  want to see

No, I am not surprised. I have read the instructions 100 times because I’ll have to do ROC in the near future. It says that the evidence SHOULD include the affidavits. But then on VJ it says

“If you are short on the documents that have both of your names listed on them you MAY include affidavits from people who know you as a couple confirming your marital relationship— note that they are not required. If you have little documentary evidence, you MAY find affidavits helpful”.

They are not mandatory; they’re just good if you don’t have much evidence or if the evidence is weak. Maybe @Lucky Cat can chime in....

USCIS wants documents that show people have a genuine relationship. Affidavits are on that list as an example of what people might send but again, they are not mandatory, and again, they are weak evidence because friends and family will write whatever to make you look good and USCIS knows that.

Just Google how many people were getting RFE with one line on it

Lack of affidavits sworn from friends and family, I'm here to help not to fight, I got my ROC with not RFE and no interview

You are all good photo album format is great to submit on a per page bases, USCIS will not accept pages bound together in a three-ring binder or other book like format; they will accept each page of an album but not a photo album itself.

OP, your list sounds good, but remember that USCIS wants to see a progression of your relationship and financial comingling and cohabitation. So you may want to cover whole time that you were married. I am gathering my evidence because we have to send mine, but I have read of people submitting the evidence they sent for initial AOS and add new evidence to it for ROC. I am not saying it’s a requirement; I’m saying that those cases are generally successful.
For example, you should send the bank statements from the joint account since you opened it; same with bills, etc.
About affidavits, they are a support if your other evidence is not enough.

Throughout my marriage, I have collected the following:

joint bank accounts

IRA with spouse beneficiary

health insurance with spouse beneficiary

lease with both names

deed for a house

mortgage

Flight tickets

Sams club membership

W2

life, car and renters insurance.

examples of mail received

hope it helps!

I have never heard of a request for affidavits when documents sent were strong enough. Cannot find examples on Google either, other than law firms instructing people based on hypotheticals.

For clarification, I don't see a problem sending affidavits and am glad your case got approved. Many others were approved as well without ever sending affidavits and without getting an RFE either, so it's important that people filing understand that each case is different and the weight of affidavits in their application is extremely low in comparison to everything else they submit.

I’m not here to fight either; I just Googled it and I can’t find one single example of a RFE where they just asked for affidavits. Think about it: in the affidavit, anybody can say whatever to make you look good, and USCIS knows this. I’m not saying it’s going to hurt either, but it’s not mandatory by any means.

Can you show us one of your sources about this claim? I can't find out anything.

I also couldn’t find anything. I am sure people get a RFE for more evidence of a bona fide relationship, among which USCIS mentions the affidavits. But I have never seen a RFE for just affidavits.
