How do we make changes to our petition once it’s received?

My fiancé noticed I spelled my dad’s name (last name twice instead of middle & last) and put an end date to both of our jobs since I couldn’t write present.

Is there a way to correct it before it becomes a possible problem? I filed 3/25 and they received it 3/29/21.

Thanks for the responses!

So do they just ask if they have questions? This process takes entirely too long to have to start again or something like that. I’m just nervous, don’t want it to ruin anything.

That can be corrected at the visa interview if there is no RFE.

so for future reference (e.g. I-485) OS X on a Mac has a built in Preview App that lets you add text fields anywhere and you could have done that.  If not using a Mac, Adobe’s editor app lets you do the same.

At any rate, this error is also corrected at RFE or the interview.   You will want to provide your fiancé an employment verification letter from your employer in addition to the I-134.

You and your fiancé will want to rehearse what she says about these errors at the start of the interview.  Keep it short.  The actual interview itself is 10-15 minutes, and these errors aren’t  a big deal.

No way without an RFE.

I doubt the process will restart.  RFEs are disheartening.  It’s the risk of DIY, though as many VJers will be quick to add, lawyers are also known to make mistakes.

Thank you @Mike E. My fiancé, he noticed the errors as he already knows my information. I’m a girl, by the way.

I am self employed so I guess I can provide my schedule c for last year and my bank statements for the I-134. How do you send that anyway? I need to provide it to him or do I send it directly to embassy?

Thank you so much for your help!
