My fiance's mailing address goes something like this:

Country:

Town and Town's zip code

Family Name:

So it's like, once you get in the town, the mailman goes around on his moto asking everyone where this person lives until they find it.

Weird. Anyone have anything similiar. I hope this doesn't slow things down significantly...eeee..

Yes, but does anyone have a recommendation for how to write these unusual address' on the form, for example the I-129F? I am in a similar situation and would like to know where it says Street Address should i put "Past the Texaco and in front of the Barbershop"? also should i put it in spanish since this is Nicragua that i am dealing with? in that case it would be "DE LA TEXACO 2 CUADRAY MEDIA AL SUR FRENTE BARBERIA ROBERTO".

thanks everyone for any advice.

My wife's address was Zone 5 and the family name compound in the city where she lived. Zone 5 was a pretty big area so I have no clue as to how the mail person knew where their compound was

You guys should see the addresses in Honduras. No numbers. Just the person's name, street name, city name, and a reference.i.e. Across the street from the Chinese Restaurant. No joke!

I would ask your fiancee. I would not arbitrarily change the address because you feel it should be done. It is used to send them their documents and to find them in their native country. Changing things may have an adverse affect.

Just my opinion...

Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensedregistered pharmacist". (because somebody gives a damn)

I would write the address in Spanish, just as if you were mailing something to that address. I don't think you should worry too much about if the address is not in the format that the form is asking for. Just do your best to fill it in. That is what I did.

I had to write SEE ATTACHED SHEET to write my husband's complete address.

Packet 3 eventually got to him.

Write down the address the best you can - in Spanish. We're all in the same boat as you - good luck

When we visited my fiancee's family in their village, i talked to a few people about how a barangay with 700 houses can have no house numbers for mailing address??? Ultimately, I learned the name of the Barangay captain and someone explained that the mail man just leaves all the mail with this person. So on my cover letter I explain the lack of numbering and request that anything to be mailed to Jovy be sent to the c/o provided. All of her addresses for the G-325 (work and home) were similar format:

Barangay

City

Province

I stressed over this for more than a week before just deciding to put down what information i have and let 'er rip. The restaurant she used to waitress at a few years ago is out of business, and she doesnt remember the name of it (if it even had a name, lol). I had to put Restaurant (name unknown) - city, province, country, and hope i don't get a question about it (as there's no more info to be had).

Luz's address was shared with everyone on the block. The post office either called her (I would put her cell # on the package) or it was up to her to check and see if something arrived. They didn't deliver.

We had a similar challenge with Kathmandu. I just put the address on the I-129F as best I could, plus I put an additional sheet suggesting that they use the PO Box he got at the main PO in Kathmandu. They must not have seen my addendum, because they mailed packet 3 to the, ahem, "street" address, and it got lost. But I had been following the package by phone, so when it didn't show up on time, I sent my (now) husband in to pick up a second packet 3 at the Consulate. Which worked out fine.

I would just follow the progress yourself and intervene if it appears that something has gone astray.

Best wishes!

Maya

Many thanks to the Visajourney community for all the help!
