Are newer approvals going first?

According to my wife she has read of people who got documentarily qualified this year already having interviews before the end of May.  One got approved in Jan this year and the interview was scheduled for April but moved to early may. The other got approved late aerial and scheduled it for mid may.

Meanwhile we applied on 2019 and was documentarily qualified in May 2020 (could have April but I had issues with my taxes). Fast forward to April 2021 I ask the NVC over email if we need to update any information from new taxes and what not for being almost a year. I was informed we are still documentarily qualified and the embassy will inform then when they are holding interviews.

My wife finds out about the 2 people who not to long ago got documentarily qualified and get to have interviews. She calls the embassy a few days ago and they tell her the NVC qualified us on April 2021 the day I got a response back from the NVC. They also tell her they have the profile but no documents from the NVC.

I been trying to call the NVC for 2 hours the first time and 1.5 hours the 2nd to get answer why I am hearing newer documentarily qualified cases are going ahead first and why the NVC is telling them 2021 not 2020.

My wife has going nuts because it his her son on a IR2 visa to come here. She has not seen him in almost 2 years now. We had plans on him being here last year but covid. This year we need him here asap and my wife has to travel back to Russia before September to update her documents and a few other things and she was going do this when they do the interview.

I am just baffled why don't even consider children's a priority.

The cases above are the Moscow embassy and so is ours. According to what is going on between the US and Russia seems like he never will get a interview.

Isn't the US consulate in Moscow now closed?

It is but some how some people are marking it in. I could only think special circumstance or something my wife is leaving out.

Still it is really stupid as the NVC has never contacted us on what to do about it.

They act like - Hey we know this a child immigration but we had to close like everyone else. Don't forget if you don't contact us in a year you can F -OFF. So now that the whole Covid thing is better we decided we are not going to open up the embassy. So bye bye thanks for the money and don't forget next year contact us again or F-OFF. If and when we open up again then we will set up a interview.

Why are they not moving all the cases to other embassies. Why are they not making children a priority. We would have way better luck taking him strait to the Mexico/US boarder.

Everything has been DQ and paid since May of last year.

Are you sure those 2 cases are not expedited?

Did you ever get confirmation from NVC about your actual DQ date?  If records show DQ date as April 2021, it's no surprise your child hasn't been scheduled for interview yet.

All US embassies prioritize services for US citizens.
