the thing with me is, my petition arrived at the embassy just before everyone went into lockdown, i never received any instruction letter or information from the embassy, so i have just been in limbo ever since, the embassy has not made contact with me yet.

I gave you the link to the K1 instructions earlier. The letter says go to the website and follow the instructions. Just do that and don’t worry about the letter. Read all the pages....click Next and go to the next bit.

If you're so inclined to check out our timeline Liam and I also had our case sent to the London Embassy right before the lockdown in March of 2020. It sat there, languishing at the embassy with no word from anywhere. I made lots of calls to the embassy and NVC and a scheduling line in Virginia for an appointment; all to no avail. As my review background on my timeline states I have a medical condition and got the expedite. However the CO did not approve us for the medical exception, she said we qualified under the National interest exception (we showed no additional proof for an NIE, the only information we had was a letter from my neurologist which did not impress the CO at all.) He got a 221g for the medical and police cert which was waaaaaay expired. After some rush orders and quick taxi bookings we got him sorted. The CO did say that IF he was approved he would only have 30 days to travel. He was approved on March 15th, booked a flight for April 6th and the rescheduled because the Easter holiday messed up the covid test results which we paid for not one but two overnight couriers and on April 9th I picked him up at ORD Chicago. I am happy to report we were married on May 21st, 2021 after almost exactly one year of the Covid shutdown. I look at him everyday and tell him I'm so happy he is home and how lucky we are. I would be more than happy to answer any questions or give any advice or recommendations about our journey thus far and the London Experience. My heart breaks for everyone who is still waiting for just a drop of information, chin up tho. Cheers

they just sent the normal email with the link that wuozopo posted there further up. It kind of looked like a scanned letter but had a hyperlink in it. I think you probably would have been sent it when the consulate first received your case, that's what happened for me. All you need to do is fill in the ds160 and then book your medical and interview as per the guidance.

If you case says at the embassy on the ceac tracker I think you're good to go. I think I read on here before that some people don't get the letter but as I said it was very generic more of a "your case has arrived now click this link". Good luck!

Thank you so much, I am definitely going to give it a shot, once I get my final paperwork in line I'm going for it.

Hello!  I have recently joined Visa journey.

My petition for K1 visa was approved since March 2021 and it is still stuck at NVC because US embassy in London is not accepting new applicants.

Anyone has a similar case or any information that can help.

Thanks!

There are K1s stuck at NVC since March 2020 when the embassy closed for Covid. There is a backlog to clear out. The embassy is still not fully staffed so interviews are progressing slowly.

Do you happen to know if there's somewhere they update things like this? I check the Embassy page/facebook page often, but they seem a little quiet and it's hard to grasp what the situation is. It's alright if not, I'm just eager to find out more instead of worrying about it all (we got our NOA2 September 2020, it's been a wait). Cheers!

This is the page for updates. It was updated today. https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/u-s-visa-and-travel-faqs/

Unfortunately you started the visa process in the middle of a pandemic. You are going to experience significant delays while they clear a year-long backlog of approved K1 petitions that have been building up at the NVC. Your embassy must follow local (England) health and safety rules. Considering the country’s lockdowns and that it’s still not “business as usual” in England,  the embassy in London has many working from home or furloughed like other businesses. The government had planned to lift all legal limits on social contact on 21 June, but this was delayed amid concern over the spread of the Delta variant. Covid is not over yet and is affecting your visa.

You will get your visa, but trying to guess a timeline is futile because, as you know, things change constantly during this time. It’s really hard on you and the others waiting. My best advice is don’t hover over it too much. You are just going to be disappointed daily if you keep checking all day, every day. Then you’ll get all mental and whiney and won’t be the adorable person your fiancé fell for. Get on with your life as it is and push your immigration expectations to 2022.  Keep your relationship happy instead of worried all the time. Have you had a chance to visit? Maybe plan a vacation getaway to Mexico if that’s possible.

Hi all, I think I might be in the same situation as @Nadine72; I received a NOA on 03/23/2020 that the NVC would begin processing our application. Since then we haven't received anything, except for a notice from the NVC that we hadn't contacted them in a year and our application would be cancelled, and then another notice a week later that the last notice was sent in error.

When I check the ceac status page, it says that our application is "At NVC". I do have an NVC case # and an NVC invoice number.

I'm under the impression that we shouldn't fill out a DS160 until the embassy had reached out. Is this correct? Also, would it help to fill out a DS160 even if the NVC hasn't sent over our information to the embassy? Would filling that out preemtively be a bad thing to do?

Gosh this process is so stressful. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
