K1 interviews London

Hello There Everyone I am new to Visa Journey, I do apologise if this has already been asked.

If there is anyone supposed to have their interview at London embassy for K1 Visa, are there any interviews happening at all particularly non lawsuit applicants?

If and when a K1 visa is approved and you receive it, do you have the validity of the visa to enter the US or one month to enter the US as I hear that NIE is valid for one month?

Your input is great appreciated.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I came onto ask this exact question! I have seen some people getting interviews but I think they are mainly people being reissued. I am not sure if they are opening up appointments on the calendar or if scheduling is done on a case by case basis at the embassy. On the NIE I am not sure I had thought it was valid for the normal 6 months as I hadn't heard any different.

My interview in July * was a reissue as it was cancelled in March 2020. I was sent an email and went straight on, but there were very few dates available and all just 9:30 appointments.

* Non lawsuit applicant

The interview was last July? Could you create a timeline?

Hi Everyone thank you for your feedback

My petition reached the embassy on the 10th of March 2020...then the pandemic hit, I have not heard anything from the embassy since being the pandemic and all....I have created a timeline to show my journey so far.

I am hoping to hear something at some point soon.

Have you submitted the DS-160 online?

Do you have all your documents for the interview?

Have you gotten your shot record or the jabs you need? MMR, Tdap. The other 2 are waived (not flu season, and having had chickenpox)

Have you tried the appointment scheduling site?  https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv
scroll down to the green part, past all the pink information. Register. Pick that you have received a letter to book your K1 appointment. (You don’t need the letter). You might have to check daily trying to snag an appointment. People say eventually they find one. Meanwhile get the rest of your ducks in a row...shots, police certificate, birth certificate. There is a list on the embassy website.

Submitting your DS-160 isn’t really tied to any gathering of documents,  so do that any time you like. Nobody reviews it until you are at your interview. It just sits there on a server, not prompting or preventing anything else from happening.

For the medical you will take your police certificate, shot records, and health care summary printout from your GP. If you have any prior surgeries, conditions, depression..you should bring a short statement from your GP with some medical details on each. These ducks do need to be aligned so you are properly prepared to attend the medical. Sometimes NHS is slow in helping you. Visa Medical appointments are readily available so no need to book until you have what you need and know you also have an interview secured. The visa expires 6 months after the medical so don’t go to a medical until you know an interview is actually going to happen. Interview availability will be further out so you will have time to book in the medical well before, when you know your interview date.

Our original interview was canceled in March 2020. We were able to reschedule it a couple weeks ago for June 16 2021 and we aren't apart of any lawsuits. The backlog is massive. You just have to keep checking the site for new appointment times.

the thing with me is, my petition arrived at the embassy just before everyone went into lockdown, i never received any instruction letter or information from the embassy, so i have just been in limbo ever since, the embassy has not made contact with me yet.

London is terrible with sending out letters. We never received anything either other than the email when they cancelled our original interview. If you go to https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv/users/sign_in you should be able to create an account and fill out your DS-160 and get started from there. I hope that helps.
