K-1 NOA2 Expiring soon, no word from NVC

We received NOA2 dated Feb 11, 2021, and it says it's valid from Feb 10 to June 9, 2021.

We have not received any other communication.  This week, I sent an e-mail to the NVC inquiring about the case, and the estimated processing time for e-mails is currently two weeks, which puts us right at the June 9 deadline.  I just called the NVC, and there was a recording saying to call back later.  Do I need to call back?

My fiancee talked with the embassy yesterday (in Spanish, yay!), and the agent was very friendly and helpful.  He told her it was very important that I call the NVC immediately, because if the notice expires on June 9, according to him we can lose our whole application process.

What do I do?

Could this have to do with my I-134?  I was following instructions on the K-1 guide here, and it said to keep the I-134 and also to send one to my fiancee, but not to submit it yet.  Do I need to send it to the NVC

Thanks!

Aaron and Cintya

1.  I have never seen an I-129f expire while at NVC.  Do you know how many have been at NVC for longer than 4 months?  Petitions are normally extended automatically.

2.  NVC does not accept affidavits of support for K-1 cases.  They are presented at the consulate interview.

I question the knowledge of that  consulate agent.

What say, you, @payxibka ?

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Agreed, there are tens of thousands of petitions at NVC,  some for more than a year.   The consulate officer is the only one who has the authority to extend.   NVC does not. I question the knowledge of the person at MEX.

YMMV

OP again:

I just talked to NVC, and they said we were okay.  Our case was changed to a different embassy (the one in Mexico City), and the agent gave us our case number!  (I had not received a case number yet.)

But the case is delayed due to COVID and still sitting at NVC waiting to be sent to the embassy, and so we just have to wait for notification.

Thanks!

Aaron and Cintya.
