Hey everyone. I just thought I'd share a little bit of good news!!! I just got my NOA2 (I-797) in the mail for my hubby who's in Ethiopia. Things have been going very smoothly so far and I'm pleased with that.

I'm embarrased to admit this but i haven't prepared my packet of information to send to him but I'll be moving at lightening speed to get it done. (I work well under pressure).

Anyway, thanks to everyone at visajourney for their good advice and information on how to do this process the right way. When I submitted my K-3 application I felt very confident I'd assembled it properly. My NOA2 was finished in less than 60 days. And now I have to follow through on the final leg of this process to bring my husband to the states.

I just realized I hadn't updated my public timeline via the signature.

6/2004 - Met Ethiopia (I was there on business). Spent two days together.

2004 - 05 - Fell in love

8/05 - Visited Ethiopia

9/05 - GOT MARRIED!!!

12/27/05 - Rcv'd NOA1

4/06 - Recv'd letter from NVC

4/06 - Found out that there was a mixup at the Embassy - Somehow they didn't have his mailing address

5/2/06 - Husband meets with officials at Ethiopian Embassy - Recv'd Packet 4 (instructions for visa)

5/12/06 - Send affidavit of support, evidence of relationship via DHL to Sultan in Addis

5/16/06 - DHL arrives in Addis

5/18/06 - US Embassy told him he would get a same day interview when he submits his visa app (w/medical, police, affidavit of support, and proof of relationship)

5/23/06 - Submits his visa application. ITS APPROVED!!!!!!

5/24/06 - Picks up his passport and visa envelope.

6/26/06 - Arrives in the US!!!!

7/22/06 - Mailed EAD form

8/24/06 - NOA arrives in the mail

9/7/06 - Biometrics Appointment

10/03/06 - Work Authorization Card Arrives!!!

10/4/06 - Applied for SSN

10/17/06 - SSN Arrives in the Mail!!

We did both K3 & CR1 visa's, got both!!- I returned to England for my CR1 interview after first arriving on a K3 visa!!

May/25th 2006- Green card arrives in the mail................YAY!!

19th June 2006 I Had to go to the Social Security Office to get my number, the DS-230 didnt work for me!!

26-June-2006- Social Security# arrived in the mail....YAY!!

Feb 2008 lift conditions <<<reminder to self!!<<<< went to England for a visit instead, no rush right, 90 days is a long time,LOL

HEY SOUTHERN CHIC,

JUST A QUESTION... WHY DID I THINK THAT ALL K-3'S HAD TO BE DONE VIA THE MISSOURI SERVICE CENTER?

HERES THE THING.. I FILED MY K3 THROUGH CHICAGO, AND I GOT MY APPROVAL NOTICE ON 2/28. IT CAME HOME BY MAIL ON MARCH 6.

THE NVC STILL HASNT RECEIVED THE CASE YET!!!

I KNOW THE SERVICE CENTERS SEND STUFF IN BULK.. SO DO I HAVE TO ASSUME THAT THE NBC/MSC hasnt posted it to the NVC yet?

I'm desperate here..

MINE NOA1 RECIEPT DATE IS JAN 30 AND I HAVE NOT RECIEVED ANYTHING. I DON'T EVEN EXIST ON THEIR AUTOMATATE PHONE SYSTEM OR ON THEIR WEB SITE. SO OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE WAY THEY PROCESS APPLICATIONS. I AM HAPPY FOR YOU THOUGH.

I AM GETTING VERY WORRIED NOW.

THIS AGENCY IS SO MESSED UP JUST LIKE ALL OTHER BRANCHES OR OUR GOVERNMENT
