Hi what happens now i totally forgot to hand over sealed k1 package to immigration officer. Package is  safe with me. So while i file for green card i should send it together with all other forms? I am very confused now what to do. At the border  wondering why immigration officer didn't ask for the package. It was my very first time entering usa.

Easiest to go back to airport/ your POE and seek one, maybe. I do not know. That is where my head thinks you will get help easier

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Now i am in different state.... Do i need to physically go to airport?

YES, but you can go to the international airport where you live.  You have to complete your deferred inspection.  Without it you will not receive your SSN, etc....

I would not try this. Currently, USCIS has so much backlog. You will not hear anything for months.

Which city are you at?

How far are you from an International airport?

I would agree with this also. This is too important to trust with getting lost, or having Useless, I mean USCIS handle it for you.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. Totally agree, do not mail, make appointment and go yourself, the drive is worth it, and will give you peace of mind knowing its in the right hands and not in some mailroom

Here is a list of all the deferred inspection sites, which is where I would try to go first if I were in that situation:

https://www.cbp.gov/contact/ports/deferred-inspection-sites

Be sure to expand all of the tabs on that page as there are several locations listed for each hub.

As others have said, deferred inspection.  Make sure you safe guard any paper work you get from your deferred inspection and write a letter after you are inspected that explains what happened.  Include this letter in your I-485 package.

Did you identify yourself as a K-1 visa holder entering on your K-1 visa? I’m curious if your visa was even used.

Also curious what your online I-94 says right now.  Whatever it says, make a permanent copy of that.  Then 48 hours after deferred inspection recheck and re-copy.

Your passport stamps, deferred inspection paper work, I-94 records, and site mentioned letter of explanation are your evidence that you presented yourself for inspection at a lawful of entry and inspection facility.

You will need the originals at your I-485 interview as well as the copies to send with your I-485 package.
