Hi there,

I am sorry I am not sure if I am posting this in the correct area, but I am looking to book a hotel. I heard there is a hotel infront of or really close by to the Montreal consulate. I tried to google map it but for some reason my google maps isn't showing hotels?

Wondering if anyone knew what hotel is infront of the consulate, or if you have any recommendations (that are hopefully walking distance)

Thank you!

Scroll down to "Cheap and good hotels near the Consulate?" and you will find a few hotels listed by VJ users. The Tour Centre Ville is described as being across the street from the Consulate, so that may be the one you are looking for.

If you google their address "1134 Saint Catherine West" and click "Nearby" there are a few.

Theres:

Le Mount Stephens

Le Centre Sheraton

Best Western

Four Seasons

The Ritz

The closest is likely Hollan Hotel by Simplissimmo which is across the street.  There are a ton within walking distance, just depends on if you want it directly across the street or if a few short walking blocks is okay for you.

Click the "Nearby" and "hotel" and you'll see a bunch pop up with some rates.

I was in Montreal 2 weeks ago for my interview and stayed at the Holiday Inn on Rene Levesque Boulevard. Nice hotel, decent price and only a 7 minute walk to the consulate and very easy walk too!

If I'm remembering right the hotel across the street is no longer there. It was The Tour Centre Ville. That was the one we stayed at so many years ago.

If you were interested in something closer to the consulate, I stayed at the Holiday Inn on Rene Levesque Blvd. It had a mini fridge in the room and a grocery store around the corner and up the block (directly across from the Bell Centre) It was $115/night. I stayed 8 nights and was able to eat cheaply by eating sandwiches for most suppers. I had my usual yogurt and fruit for breakfasts and then had snacky things like nuts and granola. I also bought those little packages of boiled eggs, so had those for breakfast or lunch.  I realized near the end of my stay, there was a microwave in the lobby area, so if you wanted to buy a packaged meal at the Provigo and warm it up, it is an option. Could also get ramen in a cup and get hot water from the Kuerig in the room 😂. I made sure to bring a set of plastic cutlery with me and a container to mix my yogurt etc. I even brought a tiny bottle of dish soap to wash cutlery and fruit lol

We stayed at the Marriott Renaissance Montreal Downtown.  It's 5 blocks (really, like 4 because 2 of them are short) from the Consulate, a 3 minute walk to Medisys and just down the street from the Eaton Center.  Tim Hortons was just around the corner.  We had a mini fridge in the room and the kids enjoyed the restaurant across the street.
