Where do you send RFEs to? Field Office?

This might be an odd question, but I was wondering where do submitted RFEs usually go to?  Is it addressed to the field offices where you had your interview or does it go to some service center?

I'm asking because during our green card interview, we were told that they cannot find my wife's medical exam records in their system.  The officer told us that it could take 3-4 weeks before they can issue an RFE.  The officer suggested to us if we wanted to expedite things, we could go get a new medical exam (I-693) and then mail the sealed I-693 envelope back to their office before an RFE is even issued to us.  This is exactly what we did, but haven't heard anything.

Was just curious if this is normal procedure for mailing back an RFE.

Thanks.

If it's issued by the NBC, NBC. If it's issued by the field office, then Field office.

It would go to your lfo.

But you should have waited for your "RFE".

That's normal for them to say that when you get an inexperienced but boasty officer. They were trying to intimidate you because THEY didn't do THEIR job and go searching for your complete A-file as they were supposed to before your interview.

It's there, 99% of the time.

That's silly. More intimidation.

You should have waited.

Not normal.

Only if you get stuck with an IO with an ego.
