What is the total general cost of getting the medical , do I need to have a chest x-ray done ??

Thank you

@NikkiR123, USCIS does not regulate how much physicians may charge for conducting the medical and filling out the form. You can find a physician in your area by entering your zip code here. https://my.uscis.gov/findadoctor Your best bet is to call several places in your area and ask.

There are some places -county clinics, health centers- that will charge a fee on a sliding scale. I am mentioning that in case that is helpful to anyone here.

I believe the x-ray is not always a must. if you have had the shot that may give a false positive, then I think the guideline is to do a blood test to look for TB (tuberculosis). You would need to look through the instructions and see. And again, you may need to point this out to the nurse or physician who helps you.

@NikkiR123, If you have your vaccination records, you may bring that to the physician. They may just use those and transcribe them. Otherwise, they would have to run blood titers (levels/test) to check for immunity, etc. So if you have your vaccination records, then provide those to the doctor. It is usually cheaper that way.

Mine cost $200 but I was up-to-date with all vaccines and titers before I went.  I didnt have a chest xray - I think thats only if you test positive for TB

Thank you so much .

@NikkiR123, it's possible you have already had them as a child or young adult. I do not know what you would need to do in order to avoid them.

depends on the vaccines you need and the labs you need to get done. Price can range from 150-1000$ depending on location. Doctors will charge what they want.

Labs = laboratory tests run on blood samples drawn from a vein in your arm.
