Well I called this morning just because I realized a lot of people were getting Nebraska with IOE. Unfortunately as a USC they sent me to California. Lawfully didn’t update and I didn’t see anything in files that said transferred. 🥺 alittle worried. Considering filing K3 because 21-28 months is long.

Nebraska Service Center-Showing I129 (WAC) Rep says I130 processing California🙄
Consulate : Ghana
Marriage : 4/18/21
I-130 Sent : 5/25/21
I-130 NOA1 : 5/25/21 😄

I129F Mailed: 05/29/21

I129 RCVD: 06/01/21

NOA1 (I129F)-06/07/21

Processing at Uscis normally gives a pretty long time frame but tends to move alot faster than posted ~ precovid of course ~ Side note, Ghana embassy is about a year and half behind on interviews. I completed my NVC process Feb 2020 and was in line for an interview but as we all now Covid hit and March 17th they closed. We are still waiting for our interview but hopefully in the next month or so. A little advise if I may be prepared for a really long wait after you clear USCIS, then you have Nvc, but the real wait comes with the actual embassy in Accra there will be over a year and half worth of interviews that are still waiting before you :(

At least I’ll know he’s on the line for interview... ❤️. More so was concerned as a USC waiting over 2 years at NVC. That’s permanent resident timing 🥺. Anyways I’m gonna just gather NVC documents so I’m prepared for NVC

Great attitude! Patience will get you a long ways on this journey 😉 Stay on top of USCIS, normally from what I see things go pretty smooth, If I recall correctly, its been a while since I looked at those dates...I submitted my I30 March 28th 2019 and it was approved super quick April -May 2019 but that's when all hell broke loose :( they said they sent our file to Nvc in June ,I believe and for months I was in contact with NVC but they never received it long story short, they sent his file to the office in America that processes visas for immigrants who are already in the United states instead of the embassy in Accra, it took about 4-6 months or so of me calling weekly speaking with several managers who were no help at all. Finally I was blessed with getting the right manager, he looked into it, maybe a few emails and phone calls and actually called me back with an update. A week or so, were now in the end of November now... NVC finally received my file. I submitted all my paper work in December, I was ready before they even said go lol😄 And they approved all my doc 2-21-20 and the rest is history....stay waiting. I do wish you the best though! There is light at the end of the tunnel...just hang in there!  I see you where married in Ghana how was the experience? I also married in Ghana but went to the assembly, figured for documentation purposes that would make the application process go by alot smoother... I wish we could have had a traditional wedding by my husband is not really into those things lol.

Oh wow I’m super happy for you ❤️. It's just crazy to see how unorganized and broken our system is. I had a traditional wedding oh my goodness it was so much funnnnn. We got married in Kumasi where his family and friends are. We did a 1 day event. Girlllllllll thank God my hubby has patience because I've looked at the application 20 times already. Online made a error and duplicated something so I had to send a error correction. Then my NOA1 said Nebraska at the top and bottom but in their system shows California... This morning the agent said look our internal system isn't perfect if you haven't gotten a transfer letter you're at Nebraska you're not gonna be waiting a extended period. She took some time looked again and was like no you're processing at Nebraska don't worry. Send over the error correction online and they'll fix it for you. So just imagine the start 😂😂

i'd recommend filing the k3. Mine was sent to california service center and it has been 15 months without any updates. Keep in mind i have talked to a couple of tier 2 and multiple csr's at USCIS. Dont listen to anyone here about the k3 being obsolete. Just file it so you dont regret it later in case your file takes a long time at csc

So your're recommending the K3 on the basis that it shortened your wait time or something?

It can indirectly. Either the K3 petition is approved or they drop it and process the I130. For example, if i had filed my k3 1 month after getting my NOA1, uscis would have had to processes the K3 instead. At least I would have had valid reason to contact them to ask about my K3. Right now the wait time for my I130 is 21-26 months. I have to wait over 26 months just for them to even look at my i130 petition.

How many people actually receive K3s?  Not sure how long you've been around VJ, but in the 6 years I've been reading here, I have yet to see someone get a K3.  I believe there were a handful of them given in the past few years.
