The fact that I can't prove the non-existence of something or someone, does not prove it's existence. I can't prove that aliens do not exists. Is that sufficient to prove their existence? Not in a million years.

Best evidence (to me) was a bloody size-14 footprint in southern part of Chennai on Chinnamalai (transliteration of Tamil; meaning is "little hill") where Thomas died after being stabbed by Brahmans from the then-village of Triplicane (now a congested part in "practically downtown" Chennai). BTW, I saw the footprint FIVE YEARS AFTER I'd become Christian.

This book was written by a scholar who traveled the world getting evidence to prove the bible was false becuase he couldn't stand Christianity and thought that it was for the weak. In all his travel and trying to disprove Christianity he becam a Christian and his book details many of the proofs he found

You can't do that. You can't counter the question of "prove that your god exists" with "prove that he doesnt" that to me just tells me you don't have an answer. Where is all this proof that he exists? I'm not saying God doesn't exist. But when you say that there is proof... provide it or don't make that comment at all. Geez, I already had this discussion with someone else not too long ago.

And if you are going to provide that proof, please, no bible quotes. Remember, a non-christian doesn't necessarily take the bible as truth. So to quote the bible will be a waste of time.

Oh yeah, if you take off the anger a little bit and scroll back you would see my original post is in response to someone who believe the bible is fiction. Therefore I am responding to that.. Do you really expect me to prove God exist in the VJ room...

We were talking about bible accuracy..and I had mentioned somethings that shows of how accurate the bible is before man even figured it out.. What is this Egyptinan person name so I can reseach him myself, and even if he did say the earth is round so what, when was that was it before the bible was written..i dont think so..and even if it was I am going with popular thinking for the times. I have much more evidence like those above, I would give a few more if you are interest in a polite intellectual debate, and not an insult fest. But in no way will I attempt to prove the historical never ceaseing debate on God's existance on VJ

Wait....I thought this thread started out on a totally different story here....the bible being used as a textbook and taught in public schools as an elective, hopefully from a historical standpoint. NOW I see this being turned in to a debate as to the existence of God. My personal belief is just that...personal. I have not shared my beliefs on here because I do not want them put out there for all to see and comment on. Karen... I have to say I agree...... my relationship with God IS personal... and I wouldn't want to push my beliefs onto anyone else... or have them pushed on to me...

I can actually see both sides... those who are for and against using the Bible as a historical document... I can only hope that I have raised Dev in such a fashion that he is secure in his faith and personal relationship with God to differentiate and decide what is best for him...

Sorry, cannot give you the Egyptian scholar I mentioned. But there is evidence on TOMBS (in heiroglyphics) of Egyptian knowledge of the distance from the sun (some of these may predate Joseph--as in the patriarch, not the Saviour's earthly father). Cannot say that it was written before the Book of Job (which many scholars consider as the oldest book), but CAN say that it was before the Saviour's earthly sojourn (as the original Egyptians were long-defunct by then).

But the fact that there were copies of the (Old Testament) Bible books (specifically the Pentateuch) even in 7th century BC proves beyond a doubt that it could NOT have been written by 2nd century AD Romans (who, as I stated, would not want to have had it published).

If you scroll up.. you will see the bible can be proven in a court of law, I did not say on VJ I am going to prove God's existance. My statement is bold because its true. I came to my conclusion, if you want to come to your own, than you go and look up the evidence on your own, and not just the ones that you want to be true.. Look them up in a non-biased way. As you know obviously I am in an immigration process.. there a reason I am not a lawyer..I dont have the time nor patience to prove anything to someone who doesnt want to believe what I am saying.. Its on you...Look it up for yourself.. I have numerous books I would recommend Evidence Demands a Verdict and Case for Christ.

If you want to continue on a friendly debate no problem.. but we will have to PM, and I will respond as I get a chance. I cant stay in this room now and debate the existance of GOD, I dont think that is so difficult to understand

I only see that you claimed that the bible could be proven in a court of law. you don't want to put your money where your mouth is and give us proof other than the bible, then run far away from this thread. cuz i for one will keep demaning the proof.

I've researched the subject heavily, as I was brought up to make my own choices, and there has been nothing that has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is a god. TO ME. You wanted to argue your position, we all wanted you to prove it to us. You can't do that, that's fine.

What does the immigration process have to do with the existance or lack thereof of god?
