I'm only sort of understanding what the big deal is here.

The course descriptions state that these are literature courses, not history courses. In college, at my very non-secular University, there were several of my English literature courses that used various versions of the Bible as a textbook. Maybe I'm misunderstanding here, but approving the Bible as a textbook is a long way from preaching it as the truth. It is a valuable piece of literature and should be studied as such.

Maybe that's just the English major in me talking, I don't know. I love the Bible, particularly the Geneva Bible with all of the editorial commentary in the margins! I do happen to think it should be used in literature classes.

i georgia, it will not be the roman catholic version...

no it wont be. Since GA is part of the Bible belt of the USA, I am sure it will be southern baptist.

I dont think it should be in the Public school system.

if they want to teach that course, it should be done by the church and away from the public schools.

I think this country is going down south really fast.. We need to hit the brakes and turn around..
