I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, but I’m incredibly confused and not sure where to post it.

My husband and I concurrently filed the I130/I485 in December 2019. My husband received his approval and green card at the end of February this year and started working here in the U.S in April.

We have been trying to find him health insurance through the Marketplace website, but couldn’t really find something within our budget.

In the mail today, he received a packet of information from a Medicaid insurance company welcoming him as a member.

He didn’t apply for Medicaid and, please correct me if I’m wrong, but I didn’t think he was able to have Medicaid given his current status.

Is my thinking correct? I can’t really find an exact answer anywhere else, so I’m trying to figure out if he is allowed to have this insurance or if we need to immediately stop it.

Again, I apologize if this isn’t the right place to post.

If, in the marketplace you selected the option to apply for financial assistance with the plans, then your state would have taken a look at the application and made a determination regarding the Medicaid eligibility. Looks like husband's status would be be LPR since AoS is all wrapped up, so husband is eligible for coverage.

See this post, it has a lot of information regarding insurance.  It is possible that you accidentally applied for medicaid during the process.  This happened to a relative of mine.  They received a welcome letter from Medicaid but then received another letter a few weeks later stating that they are actually not eligible.
