K1 at NVC for 2 months - do I need to do something?

Hello, I have not received any welcome letter and am wondering if there is anything I should be doing at this point in the process. I called the NVC and received a case number, but there is no 16 digit invoice ID or welcome letter to go off of. Should I be submitting paperwork with this case number or anything else? Thank you for your time.

Filed: Citizen (apr) Country: Morocco

At this point for a K1 you are in a long waiting game depending on the embassy which u do not post here

you could apply to get IRS transcripts for 2020 tax returns to send to fiancee as that will be needed along with the other documents which will be asked for at time of interview

Please create a timeline and let the VJ community know which country

and follow the portal for that country by hitting the word portal above

your best advice for the interview and embassy will come from other members dealing with the same country

You have to wait for the NVC to send the case to the consulate.   The consulates are all backed up so the file will wait at the the NVC until there are openings.

K-1s do not submit documents to NVC.  NVC just holds approved petitions until requested by consulates.

Don't do the DS-160 until it is at the consulate. Same with Police Certificates and other documents that expire.    You can prep your I-134 and tax transcripts as those can easily be updated.   K1s are just beginning to flow after a year of no processing at consulates.
