RFE was for birth certificate and I-944. After we submitted the RFE on March 5, I-944 was scrapped a few days later. We thought this would speed up our process but we just never heard back. We tried to call them but could not get to someone so we did live chat on their website.

Agent said that if USPS website showed I-944 was delivered, it is indeed delivered and that we should wait up to 60 days according to their policy.

On May 5th, I do a live chat again and the agent said an officer will contact us within 15-30 days. Method of contact would be email. They provided a case number.

It has now been around 17 days since that last live chat and we STILL have not heard back. Is this common practice? We had absolutely nothing wrong on our application. Even the RFE for birth certificate was probably because they misplaced or lost the birth certificate from original submission.

Wife does not have an ID or SSN yet. No biometrics. So frustrating.

I feel like our cases are moving (or not moving lol) at the exact same pace. My PD is Oct. 8, got RFE in March, had the status change to RFE response received March 17. Have not heard anything since, no biometrics, no nothing. I am also awaiting a response to a service request for I-131 submitted by  Tier 1 officer, and a call from Tier 2. I'll respond here if I ever get the call. It has now been almost 8 months since we applied. I keep in touch with several people who are assigned to my local office and some who applied after us have already had their interviews scheduled. It drives me crazy. :(

At least you had the status change to received RFE response. Our status still hasn't changed on the USCIS Case Status page. However, a couple of days ago, we got a courtesy letter "I-693 Notice of Deficiency" which basically stated we had not submitted our medical with the initial application and that we should bring it to whenever our interview is scheduled.

I'm completely lost at this point. RFE response hasn't been updated, no biometrics letter, but we got this letter lol

May I ask how you were able to get in touch with Tier 1/2 officers? We tried calling which didn't work and the live chat reps have been delaying our case further by telling us things like "someone will contact you in next so and so days" which takes forever.

I honestly lucked out with a Tier 1 during a live chat session. My initial question was "I have been waiting 8 months for biometrics. Also my I-131 is out of processing limits" and they got to work immediately, submitted a service request for me for the I-131 AND put in the Tier 2 request because it had been 60 days since my RFE was received and there had been no movement. I was shocked, usually they just give me their BS canned message about covid-19. I have no tips other than to maybe point out that your I-131 is out of processing limits.

Based on my observations with people online who applied in 2020 and 2021, there doesn't seem to be a correlation between getting the courtesy letter and and any other type of movement around their cases. I guess it means they are "working on it" at lest but I have seen people get it before biometrics, after biometrics, receive it and then wait 9 months for an interview, etc.

Got it. It's about to be 30 days in first week of June in which an officer was supposed to reach out to us. If they don't, I will use your words!

Hi! I wanted to update you on my experience with the Tier 2 call. I got the call on day 13/14, the officer was very nice and soft-spoken. He asked me if I had any urgent travel planned and I said no. He said he will submit an expedite request regardless. I asked if my case had been sent to the ASC yet and he said that is had not moved from NBC and had never been forwarded for biometrics scheduling, i.e. my wait was not caused by a busy office but rather a holdup at NBC but he could not say what the holdup was. 2 days later my status for I-131 changed to "expedite request received". A week later I was scheduled for biometrics but the status of the request has not changed so I have no clue if the call/request helped at all or it was just my time. Either way I am grateful to finally see some movement.

Our timeframes are about the same, we are doing joint 130/485 in the Chicago office, submitted last September. Our RFE was accepted at the end of March 29th and received the notice of immunization at the beginning of April. Still haven't had our biometrics appt yet and since we haven't filed before February 2020 it says technically on their site we are not outside of the processing window.

The only form that is outside of processing windows for us is the I-131. That's the only one I have been able to inquire about. It may or may not have helped my case move along, I have no clue. 🤷‍♀️

We didn't hear back so I did use your words last week. Chatted via Emma, and they said that they will get this request sent to the officer. I asked "would it be a Tier 2 officer?" and the response was "it will be the officer working on your case". I asked if an officer would actually contact us unlike last time where we were told an officer would contact us within 15-30 days but nothing came of it. She said that they should but if they do not, then we should let them know (again, ugh) and a formal inquiry would happen. In other words, "delay, delay, delay." Hoping for the best though! I have had to file Tax Extension because all this delay means my wife is still without an SSN/US Government issued ID. Biometrics appointment would be some relief!

Yep, same. My wife's I-765 should be out of processing window when compared to the processing times, but when we submitted, it said it is still in processing times lol

So we called today and they are submitting a ticket since it has been more than 60 days from RFE. Also asked about the I-765 we sent with the RFE and they said it wasn't showing on file so had to send an email for that. Now the 30 day wait for both begins, hopefully this gets things moving a bit.

We got our biometrics appt letter today. Not sure if it was just time or if the phone call and email made any difference. Haven't heard anything about our I-765 we sent along with the RFE however so will be calling again when it's been 30 days.

What number and email did you contact them on? Live Chat with Emma has been so frustrating. It also keeps disconnecting my chat this week.

It was the number listed in the forums and I just said technical support to talk to an agent.
