Hello! How many of us have filed the I-129F? Although it will 95% just be closed, was curious if it would push the I-130 faster.

Sent mine in May 4, arrived May 5.

Got the text May 16. Had a Potomac receipt number (YSC) which confirms they are being processed together at Potomac.

Found love, thought I wanted this path, two years later realized my partner was not worth all the stress 😁

From what I have seen, that trick only works at Nebraska.......regardless, it will be close administratively, in all likelihood.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Why is it that Nebraska seems to be so much faster with everything?   Everyday that passes knowing I am at Potomac and that Nebraska is on top of everything makes me so crazy and even depressed.  This whole process makes me so upset and angry at our government at times.  I fully understand why they must vet folks due to abuse but, my goodness there must be a better way.  I wish I knew where to even start with getting a movement started.....ya know?

Anyways,  Just needed to vent for my own mental health.  I realize my case is rather young especially in comparison to many many others who have been waiting so long - I can only imagine how they feel with how disappointed I am everyday.  I knew going into this it was quite the process but, you know when you try and tell your heart to listen to reason within your brain the heart wins.

Oh, and I am also considering doing the K-3 since it is free whether it makes any difference or not - maybe just to make myself feel better.

God bless all of us and our spouses thru this process.

Try not to pay attention to processing times and different centres. Each month they appear to change. Nebraska used to be super slow, and now it's the fastest. Vermont used to be slow but it has also changed. I've seen several members (allocated to Potomac) in another forum be approved around the 5-7 month mark. Right now according to USCIS the average processing time is 10 months. The best advice I can give (which I don't follow ;) ) is to forget about the petition; expect the beneficiary will be able to move around the 2 year mark, and then hopefully be surprised when you get things squared away after a year or a year and a half.

Just sharin'.  I-130 Sept 20, 2021.  I-129F K3 October 4, 2021.  My case shows actively being reviewed today November 9, 2021; on document tab, has I-130 approval dated November 9, 2021.  Both I-130 and K3 in Vermont. TYL!  (I have no way of knowing if K3 helped I-130.  Am just sharing my experience.)

The strategy was to file for the defunct K-3, which requires filing both the I-130 and the I-129F.  Although the K-3 isn't issued any longer except by rare, random accident, it has happened that the filing of the I-129F causes USCIS to pull the previously filed I-130 from the lengthy queue of I-130s to pair it with the I-129F.  Accordingly, because USCIS will close the I-129F in favor of the CR-1 track, and because the I-130 has been pulled from the queue and is in the adjudicator's hands, the I-130 will be adjudicated "then and there" and therefore jump the petitioner's file ahead in line.

The above has worked for some petitioners, according to anecdotal reports.  It's unclear how worthwhile it would be if every would-be CR-1 applicant tried this during the petition process.  Doing so does add to USCIS's workload.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
