Per the I-129F (that I just downloaded from the website)

Give USCIS a passport-style color photograph ofyourself and a passport-style color photograph of yourfiancé(e), with both photos taken within 30 days of thedate of filing this petition. The photos must have awhite background, be glossy, un-retouched and notmounted. The dimension of the full frontal facialimage of you and your fiancé(e) in separate photosshould be about one inch from your chin to the top ofyour hair in 3/4 frontal view. Using a pencil or feltpen, lightly print the name (and Alien RegistrationNumber, if known) on the back of each photograph.

Old info in the instructions, it takes USCIS years to correct things like that. The photo requirement changed Apr 02

Read http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/04_08_02Photo_flyer.pdf for correct photo requirements.

Yu and Dan are right on target! If you have a minute, read the VJ guides (there are lots of guides for lots of petitions, I know). But the VJ guides highlight updated information not yet on the USCIS site(s).

My fiance and I received an RFE b/c one set of photos were not the 2"x2" size, as required. So, we re-took both sets of passport photos in Istanbul when I was there last month. Kind of a pain, given that I did not submit the passport photos sized as stipulated. If I had, he and I would not have a 4-6 week delay in receiving our much-anticipated, too-long-in-coming, we're February-Filers-for-Pete's-sake NOA2. :crying:

Today, he assured me that he'd be in S.F. by September. I almost burst into tears ... knowing he won't arrive until October or November. :(

Do it right the first time, and avoid the mistakes your predecessors have made. And try to keep a sense of humor about it all. Otherwise, you'll go a little cookoo  and stare at the :clock:

Here's to a speedy and successful K-1 for you both!
