Can a person with Australian passport apply for a work visa in U.S and can they get a job there easily, and if they can, can they bring their spouse with them to U.S

Your prospective Employer would apply for a work visa. Some allow spouses to work many do not.

You can not apply for a work visa and then go job hunting. You would first have to find a job and the employer would then apply for a visa for you.

you cannot apply any work visas by yourself. You need to find an employer who can sponsor a work visa and once its approved, you can work for that employer. Yes you can bring spouse as dependent but they will be unable to work unless they get their own work visa.

Many types of work visas. Most common H visas, O visas, special for Australians only E3 visas. They all allow spouses as dependents but only spouse of E3 may get work authorization so if your spouse needs to work bear that in mind. If you can get a managerial transfer look at L visas.
