Just curious as to how long it takes after being approved at your interview does it typically take to get your visa back in the mail. How long did you have to wait with the Montreal Consulate?

Hey there! In my signature I have a link to a spreadsheet with all the information you need! @Hawk Riders manages it and when you read through it, fill out your timeline and DM them to be added :)

Thank you, sorry I don't understand where to find it. Where is your signature?

I’ll DM you! I’ve noticed the signature settings are weird sometimes!

I got it after 5 business days. If you want it to be delivered on your address it will take around 1-2 weeks.

Great thanks! I have it being delivered to one of the registered courier places they have you register for 🙂

It's going to depend how long you're in AP.  If it's cut and dry, a couple of days.  If not, it will take longer.

Why wouldn't it be cut and dry?

If you look at the IR/CR forum, there have been some people that have had some hiccups in AP, so their passport return has been delayed. The information on passport return is on Hawk Riders' spreadsheet.

One person had the same name as another person in the US who had criminal charges against them.  The identity verification took time (this was probably the strangest one by far).  Sometimes the medical hasn't been received by the Consulate, so they wait on it.  Montreal appears to operate by it's own rules and sometimes they just seem to take their merry sweet time.

Oh ok. We're F3. I haven't heard of any of that. Hopefully we won't have any strange stuff happen. I know our medical was sent a week ago.

Google your names.  Sounds silly, but seriously...that will tell you if there are people with the same name as you.

It's not super common that things are delayed, but with anything immigration related, expect the unexpected.

Oh yes that's very true ha. We had an interview booked last March and it was canceled 5 days before cause the pandemic started. Rebooked just last month. It's in 2 days. 15 yrs this has taken since we applied. Family visas take forever.

We interviewed the Monday and Friday, they cancelled all the remaining interviews in Montreal.  That said, it still took 634 days from NOA1 to interview.  Immigration ain't easy, especially when you do it the "correct" way!
