I contacted the Toorak clinic today and they told me that the Consulate has to email them to schedule the medical. So another thing to wait for unfortunately :(

I received the same reply after calling a Sonic clinic on Spring Street in the CBD. Hopefully the wait won't be too long, we have all waited more than long enough. It's time to start planning and organising.

We did too. They said it’ll be done by Tuesday. Not bad.

Does anyone know what the revalidation of the intent to marry has to say? Do we just add verbiage in there about revalidation for four months? Or will a standard intent to marry signed and date suffice?

I was given a beneficiary one and a petitioner one. For petitioners letter of intent I have I, name of petitioner do hereby state that Ian legally able and willing to marry beneficiary name and intend to do so within 90 days of his/her arrival in the United States using the K1 visa.

for the beneficiary it’ll be reworded to reflect a beneficiary’s point of view.

Medical in Melbourne was timely and contacted us within 72 hours with an appointment four days prior to our interview.

Which clinic were you contacted by? I haven't been contacted as yet, I'm starting to panic somewhat.

I received a phone call from the Sonic clinic early this morning. My appointment date is also on the 6th. Just 3 days before my interview. I'm so hoping that the paperwork will be received by the Consulate in time, although I'm kind of expecting that it won't be.

Did he call them first to register interest, and then get called with info? My fiance called Sonic today, and was told "we are booked out of US Visa appointments until next March" by the front desk person. Toorak said he could be added to a waitlist. I am wondering if the consulate list means the sites are booking medicals for them now and calling out to give people assignments, because of the timeframe, and that's why there appears to be no appointment dates free.

He doesn't want to have to go from Canberra to Sydney for a medical, and then back to Canberra, and then to Melbourne for the interview.

Yes, I called the Sonic clinic first, they asked for my phone number and said that they will contact me within a few days. I was also asked if I had a confirmed interview date. So on Monday morning they called me with an appointment time.

But March!? Just how many cancelled interviews were there from June/July this year? Will your fiance try calling Sonic again? I have seen some people say that they were contacted by a clinic, without having actually contacted them first. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to how it's being done. Much like the whole K1 process really.

So Toorak called him saying they had him on a list and offering a Dec 13th medical. It means he'll have to stay around a week in Melbourne but he's happy to get it done the same trip. Sonic reported nothing else in December.

What are other people doing to carry their stuff in? The email says nothing larger than a cell phone electronically. The security regulations website says:

  • Large shoulder bags/purses - only bags that can be carried by hand will be permitted (smaller than 12x10x6 inches or 30x25x15 cm)
  • Bags such as travel bags, backpacks, briefcases, suitcases, leather, cloth bags, and zip folders - you can only carry plastic bags containing application-related papers

Which feels contradictory because no bags, but "only a plastic bag with application papers", feels contradictory. Are people sticking their passports/birth certs/reports and stuff in a plastic ziploc or something? In a manila folder which they carry by hand?

I'll very likely be using at least two manila folders...one for the required documents and the other for evidence. I'm only a ten minute walk from the Consulate. My passport will likely be held separately, or in a zip lock bag.
