3/20/2020 - DQ

3/4/2021 - received email from NVC stating within 120 days, they'll either send an interview appt or another email confirming we're still in queue

Anyone received an interview appt recently in HK embassy?  If so, may I know when the your DQ date is?

Thank you.

I was DQ on March 9th and still nothing about the interview or the case being moved to the embassy. I didn't realize there was a big backlog and really no one tells you about it. It seems like it might not be as bad as some other embassies worldwide where they can go up to a couple of years but it's been three months and I've heard nothing. I will let you know when I get the invitation letter since you are a couple months behind us I guess.

Best of luck.

Yup, I'm IR1. I'll keep you posted. I've never checked my email so many times in my life.

My IR2 application for my daughter was DQ on June 11, 2021. I am wondering if I should file DS2001 to US Consulate General of Hong Kong now to indicate that we are ready for interview. We have applied the Police Certification on May 25, 2021.

I'm IR1 also and received my DQ on 22 April, 2021. Have not heard anything yet so I'd love to hear when you get notified of your appointment. If anything comes in for me I'll let you know also

Just an update that I was notified yesterday that my interview is scheduled for July 19. I did email NVCexpedite@state.gov on Saturday requesting an expedited processing but I'm not sure if that had any impact on my interview being scheduled. Good luck everyone

Congrats!  What reason did you tell

NVC to Expedite your appointment ?  As I knew, they only expedite appointment for really urgent matters.

my dq date is couple weeks later than yours. I cross my finger to receive mine soon.

Good luck on your interview.

Good luck on your interview.

I told them that my wife is being transferred to the US in August and as I am a dependent on her visa here, after that my visa would be invalid

Hey I don’t know how to tag you guys in this but I just got a reply from nvc. The interview is scheduled for July 6th, which is very soon. It’s also just a few days shy of four months since, I think it was March 9th that we were documentarily qualified.

good luck guys.

Hello all, for those who have had their interview dates, may I ask if you have done anything after getting the DQ notification? My case got DQ on May 25 and when I enquired NVC, they said they are waiting for the US Consulate in Hong Kong to tell them when they hold interviews, and no action is required from my end. However, the US Consulate in Hong Kong advised that they are unable to further process until they receive the case from NVC. Am I missing anything, or shall I provide DS-2001 to NVC as mentioned by the US Consulate? Thank you for your help in advance!

NVC:

This case is now documentarily qualified. This means that the National Visa Center (NVC) has all of the documents we requested. Your application is now waiting for an interview appointment, where a consular officer will adjudicate it.

The U.S. Embassy or Consulate tells NVC when they hold interviews, and we fill the appointment dates as the cases become qualified. We schedule appointments one month in advance, but we cannot predict when an interview will be scheduled.

Your case will stay at NVC until an appointment is scheduled, and then we will send it to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. We will notify the applicant, petitioner, and attorney (if applicable) when an appointment is scheduled.

US Consulate in Hong Kong:

Quote

Our records show that as of today, your case file is still maintained by the National Visa Center (NVC) in the United States.  As the NVC in the United States maintains all the files for administrative processing (including appointment scheduling), you may wish to contact the NVC directly about your concern by using the following link https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html?wcmmode=disabled.

Therefore, you should provide your DS-2001 to NVC (not to the U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong).

Unfortunately, we are unable to take any further action in your visa case until we receive your case file from NVC.  The NVC will not forward the files to Hong Kong until the administrative processing has been completed.
