wow you guys are harsh...try and remember what it was like before you knew everything

granted i asked this same question about a week ago (and have seen it one or two more times since then), but sheesh cut the kid some slack....i have spent months reading, searching, reading, studying, reading, and i still dont have ALL the answers that i need to complete this process...everyone has insecurities and doesnt want to mess this thing up...isnt that one of the reasons why a site like this one is created? we get support from those who are in a similar situation, and who can understand our frustrations/confusions....dont be so hard on em...its just discouraging...

if you dont want to be bothered with posts like this one, then move on and dont post back...its much easier that way...someone else will gladly respond

thanks babyblueusie!

the funny thing is i knew that i had to submit all 4 (my question was if i needed to print off 4 of the employment history attachements i created). i also knew that each form was routed to a diff department - when i asked if there was a difference i was wodnering if there was a difference in the questions - you know, if i was missing somthing! i agree with you wbout having insecurities about the process....

Advising somebody to read the guides and instructions and to slow down and engage their common sense IS cutting them slack. Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish and you feed him for life.

Or is that "Teach him to fish and he'll just sit in a boat all day drinking beer."?

When your friend is freezing to death, he'll thank you later for beating him with a stick to keep him from laying down and dying. Sometimes tough love is the best love.

i definitely think nothing can replace reading the guides, but they dont have all the answers...i just think that it can suggested in a little bit of a nicer way...the poor kid feels attacked because you made it seem like the most ridiculous question that you had ever heard in your life...how would you feel if you asked a question in school and your teacher made you feel like a moron...you would never want to ask a question again

play nice.

Why not have the Admins redo the forums section and break the K1, K3, CR, etc. questions forums up by form types and requirements needed for each? Yes, this is done in the guides, to some degree, but grouping the questions by form # and document type, etc. could help new visitors to be able to find their answers much easier. Having to scroll through pages and pages of stuff or fiddle around with a search function that doesn't always find exactly what you're looking for just to find something about the G-325 can be a bit much for a new user who wants a quick answer. Perhaps even on the forums, within say the K1 questions section, and in the proposed section for the G-325 forms, have the admins or a moderator clip a basic information section at the top that would address most of the commonly asked questions about this form. If their question is not answered there, then they can post their question for others to answer. When I was working on mine and Jacki's packet, I found it a bit cumbersome to get to the guides for our forms and what needed to be submitted with them. But I found them, all the same. Still, I wish it were somewhat simpler to navigate around here. Don't get me wrong, it's a very good, useful, and yes, helpful site.

Not to be too antagonistic... but how was it hard to find the guides? At the top of the page there are many blue colored tabs among which include 'Home' 'Forum' 'Guides' And don't even get me started on the 'Guide' page... It says in red lettering.. "Begin Here" Which, wonder of wonders... means to begin there. And then things are further broken down into guides for marriage, guides for fiance, etc.

I think this website is fantastic! And if anything, the USCIS/state.gov sites are confusing to navigate. :)

Now you're assuming how somebody else feels. Give it a rest. Nobody suggested the guides had all the answers but they do give a basis of understanding from which to not only ask intelligent questions but to make sure you know what you don't understand and need to ask about. We also suggested reading the form instructions. Just asking questions without reading the guides and instructions will ensure you don't get the answers you need because you don't know what you don't know. This is serious business.

How about you do things your way and quit attacking others for doing things their way. How would you feel if every time you answered a question the way you thought best, somebody comes along and attacks you for the way you answered. Perhaps you'd react as you suggest and keep your knowledge to yourself. Thankfully, others are more self confident.

okay i think we all get the points - the guides should be read! we have gone a little to far with this topic - i think we should all remmebr we are all here to help one another with a process that can be intimidating as many of us have had no expereince whatsoever with such matters. no need to get snappy at one another!
