Okay I’m here to whine because I find this to be ridiculous. I was looking at visa statistics for Lagos Nigeria and there were 6 K1 visas processed in March compared to 180

CR-1 visas 254 IR-1 Visas and over 1700 B1/B2 visas!!!! How is this fair???? I can’t reunite with my fiancé but they can process tourist visas??? And marriage visas are priority but not fiancé visas??? If my fiancé was here he’d be my husband. I’m so frustrated. Been sitting at the NVC for a year in two weeks!!! This is so unfair. I’m so upset. Sorry I needed to vent somewhere

My dear, the feeling is mutual!! It's really unfair!!! . K1 Visa should be priority!!! Just hoping on  God for a miracle 🙏🙏🙏

I feel your pain. My heart aches every time I check my status. It is so not fair. Lives on hold. Money spent trying to keep it all together while waiting. Ticket expenses, calls, ....heart aches....it is not fair.

I mean it’s so heartbreaking. How can this still be happening? I understand a pandemic but we are a year out at this point and they are processing thousands of other visas so it has nothing to do with the pandemic now. Just today my fiancé was harassed by vigilantes shattering my heart into a million pieces. I can’t be there for him. He can’t come here. It’s all too much. This is the worst. God please hear our cries 😥

When I called NVC on Friday (5/21/21) I was told Lagos finally updated their processing status and had requested K1 cases. Hopefully those of us at NVC will see movement soon. Anyone waiting should definitely call NVC to find out the latest information on Lagos processing of K1s. It hasn't been easy but we will all get there soon. 🙏🏾💛

I called as well and they said the same but I called early in the week and still nothing. Coming up on a year being at the NVC. I need to see forward movement. I need a miracle because this is just terrible

I used to feel the same way. The biggest part of the problem, at least for non-English speaking countries is that the consular officers doing the K/CR/IR visa applications have to speak in the same language as the beneficiary.  Because of COVID and cutback, many embassies don’t have enough correct language speaking staff. Tourist visas don’t have that requirement.

And if it makes you feel any better, things could be worse. My embassy (Moscow) is shut down for political reasons, with no opening date set. My fiancé will have to travel to a 3rd country to do her interview.   I feel your pain. Hang in there!

It is ridiculous and my fiancé is in Brazil so she can’t even come on her tourist visa and wait it out. In Brazil there were couple of lawsuits and of course those K 1’s got processed but it cost $3000 to take part in the lawsuit which is too much with all the other expenses. The NVC has had our process only since Jan so I guess I should be happy. We will get there. Thank God for modern technology! We are going to watch a movie’ ‘together’ tonight.

We speak English in Nigeria so that does not apply but I do wish you well. At least your fiancé has the opportunity to travel to do an interview. We have no such choice. We just watch as the embassy pushes out 1000s of visas but ignores K1 visas.

Yes. I've been at NVC since April 2020. It's completely insane and heartbreaking!  Have you been able to get an interview yet? I hear they are interviewing cases that were already at the consulate?

And who has an additional 3k to throw around in addition to all the sacrifices we already made? 😓 but the movie night thing is a good idea! Tried with my fiancé but in Nigeria electricity is unstable.

Awwwww!!! It is well! God will make a way. Our case has been ready for interview since February 2020. We will remain positive.

Oh I so wish they mean this and start to request cases. They should have a shipment this week so we will see. Thank you for this. Any glimmer of hope is appreciated ❤

You are not alone! It’s so disheartening & disgusting. Our case will be a year next month that it has been collecting dust at the NVC. Smh. I hope what I read is true....And the embassy in Lagos has begin to process K1’s. Because this wait is outrageous.
