They are separate cases.  Each will have an NAO1.

Thats what I thought. I have been waiting for NOA1 for the CR1 for 3 weeks but I got the NOA1 for the CR2 the next day after filing.

Getting the NOA1 within a day makes it sound like you filed online for your stepchild. Did you file for your spouse online? If so, an electronic version of the Receipt Notice should appear in the Documents section of the case on MyUSCIS.

Otherwise, the paper notice may take some more time to arrive.

I filed both of them online and I dont see the NOA1 document for the CR1 in the Document section on MyUSCIS

Was your payment processed? Does the case show a "Submitted on" date in MyUSCIS? How about a receipt number next to that date?

Yes to all the above. Thats why I was surprised that there is no NOA1.

With a receipt number you should be able to send a message from the Inbox on MyUSCIS inquiring about the situation (or if you prefer, chat with an agent via Ask Emma or call the USCIS Contact Center number).

You might also check the March 2021 filers thread, I think I saw another post where someone experienced that.

Thanks Peter0907. I found out that the CR1 is in Vermont and the CR2 is in California. So I am sure they will not be processed together and I will have to petition NVC.
