DS-230 Question 21a

Hi folks,

I have a question on 21a.

"21a. Person(s) named in 14 and 19 who will accompany you to the United States now."

Is that an N/A or does she put my name (the Petitioner) on it? We arae confused because I am already here and not necessarily accompanying her.

What have you folks (USCs living in the US) put in there?

The US citizen is NOT immigrating with the beneficiary, if no children are accompanying, the visa holder, then put "NONE" there. Accompanying means immigrating. DS-230 is used for all immigrant visas, so a mother/father or sister/brother-in-law or perhaps employee/and their spouse (H1B), may also be using this form.

YuAndDan, THANKS! I was pretty sure to put none. At first I said right away that is should be none or N/A but when my wife asked me again, I got a little confused and overthought the question. Also, thanks for the sample link. I forgot about that.

Hi Pris! Yeah, I am glad I asked too because some of those questions are vague. The fact it mentioned " person(s) named in question 14 (Me!)" got me wondering.

You should write "NONE." You can not put your US Citizen's petitioner name here, even if you accompany her. This is for anyone who is immigrating with the beneficiary. Some do immigrate with children, etc and for family immigration petitioned by son/daughter or sibling (not applicable for you), some immigrate with spouse and/or children.

You should write "NONE." You can not put your US Citizen's petitioner name here, even if you accompany her. This is for anyone who is immigrating with the beneficiary. Some do immigrate with children, etc and for family immigration petitioned by son/daughter or sibling (not applicable for you), some immigrate with spouse and/or children.
