  • 2 weeks later...

As far as I remember, once approved NVC may not send everything right away rather send in a bulk at the end of month.  Also once embassy receives them, they start making appointments and if what they receive is more than what they can book for a month, rest will fall to the next month.  Point is, it may take 1-4 months before embassy reaches back (including shipping, if needed)

There is a huge F2A backlog from last year, when embassies were closed due to COVID and then the trump ban on this categories and others that was in effect from April 2020-March 2021. Interviews are mostly scheduled in DQ order. If you only just DQ’d a couple of weeks ago, unfortunately you are likely to be very far back down the queue as there are people who DQ’d over a year ago still waiting. Then you also have local conditions impacting like the current embassy shutdown in Dhaka, all the appointments from the nearly 2 month shutdown will need to be rescheduled/interviewed before they can move on down the line. You are likely unfortunately to have a wait of many months.
