Kinda of a bummer it falls in the middle of the week, at least if it's Thursday, you can take Friday off and make it a long week end.

We're still in the UK (46 days to go!) so my 4th of July will involve waiting for my gas boiler to be serviced this morning (the engineer just left, so now I have to go into work), picking up a paper shredder, tippity-tapping on my keyboard, and calling my parents to wish them a Happy 4th. Bruce and I can't wait until our first Independence Day in the US next year!

My guy is still in the UK (for like 18 more days!!) and my daughter is leaving shortly to spend the day with her dad. I'm doing a whole lot of nothing!

I hope there's some good movies on TV or maybe I'll get lucky and my pool will be open.

I hinted at the family that a B-B-Q would be wonderful, but no takers...Ahh well...

Happy 4th everyone!!

Well...I was scheduled for my work shift on the Gulf of Mexico to end this morning and I was supposed to fly in so I could go home after being out here for my 7 days. Unfortunately the weather hasn't cooperated and no one is flying any helicopters in or out of Galveston, TX due to severe rain storms. Hopefully the storms on the Gulf will pass or die out later today, but it doesn't look favorable. So I'm stuck until the weather lets me go home to the wife.

That's what I'm doin' on the 4th of July. :crying:

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

We went for a hike in Mt. Tom's State Park, then went to Litchfield to see the Artillery Regiment shoot a cannon off 13 times for the original 13 States in the Union, then we came home and made supper for friends, and sat around and ate until it was fireworks time. It was pouring rain here last night so we didn't get out of the car, but had a great view of all the "official" and "unofficial" fireworks here in town!
