petitioning for sister, should I do it or my mom?

So I am a US citizen. I’ve petitioned for my mom and she will be here soon under a green card. 
 

I want to petition for my sister as well, but would it be better if my permanent resident mom does it or me? 

I think the timeline for parents petitioning kids is less vs siblings petitioning for each other?

Its takes15 years or so if you it.  How old is your sister?

Your sister is unmarried, presumably. Yes, it’s shorter if your mom does it once she has a GC. How much shorter depends whether the sibling is over or under 21.

Ok, so on current timelines it would take 6-7 years from the date your mom files for her. These timelines may change in the future of course.

Not on current timelines. The sister is over 21, so it is already faster as son/daughter of LPR than of citizen by almost a year, even if that relative advantage changes can’t see it being by that much that the added 5 years to become  a citizen is a positive.
