Motion to reopen AOS approved. Interview Apr 18th!!

Some of you may remember me...I was experiencing a lot of set backs with my case...Anyways I had to file a motion to reopen because my interview letter was returned as undeliverable by the post office. So we filed and finally got motion approved and recieved interview letter in the mail yesterday for Apr 18th...

So I have a few questions...Interview letter stated in big bold letters that interview will be videotaped...Should I be worried? Is this standard? Husband and I have been married three years and have 20mth old....Started filing while husband was LPR in 2003 and filed for AOS in 2004 after citizenship...Also I sent in my original I-94 with my I-130 App in 2003 and only kept copies for myself, still have plane ticket stub, visa and passport which was stamped at port of entry. I was told I-94 should be in my file, should I be concerned? And lastly would you recommend taking our child along? Only have those three for now...With all the setbacks we've encountered so far I hope we can get some silent prayers from you guys....Thanks a lot....

Congratulations on getting your motion approved. So you know, all letters state that the interview might recorded or video taped, I don't think it is something you should worry about.

For your interview do make sure you have your name on all the utility bills, bank account, tax return for this year if not for the last few years.

There is nothing wrong with taking your child with you to the interview, take the birth certificate of the child with you and the rest leave to God.

I will definately keep you in my prayers, there is really nothing to worry about it is not as difficult as it seems.

I agree and very well said. Video taped interviews can be just you were a random audit like the IRS does, it could be for them to look over before giving you a final approval. Try not to think too much into it right. Just get your evidence together and go in prepared. Good luck and will be thinking of you during this time.

It's normal to have your interview videotaped, I remember quite a few people mentioned that.

How long did it take you to reopen the case? I had the option to do MTR or to refile again, and I refiled because everybody told me it takes forever to reopen, so now I'm curious.

The adjudicators field manual recommends that all interviews be videotaped as a routine practice.

The videotaping is in very small print on the letter - so small I didn't read it till now. Good luck to you

I didn't know they used videotaping. Hee, you learn something new...

Yes, definitely bring the child unless they're very poorly behaved? And agreed with the others -- take any documentation with your name on it, like bills.

Maybe a crying baby will make the interview go quickly. Keep the baby up all night before the interview.

Thank you all so much I am so anxious had to re-do medical yesterday since the other one was more than a year old....We will keep you posted....For Anastasia, my MTR took from Nov - Mar not that long and I was not about to pay these people a thousand dollars more to refile especially since it was not due to my error so they had no choice but to approve my MTR... dont know what your situation is tho maybe diff than mine...but good luck and thanks again to you all!!!!
