Requirements for marriage in Thailand

I live in the US and plan to fly to Thailand in July to marry my Thai fiance. I hope to fly straight to Phuket (if they open) to stay with my fiance for 7 days before being allowed to leave the island.

 

We would like to marry asap. Is it at all possible to legally marry in Phuket without going to the US embassy in Bangkok? Is there anyway to obtain a freedom to marry certificate or certification of my passport before I leave the US? Also, is there a Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Phuket?

Here is the link you should follow. This has the best and most current info I believe. I can help you with any questions after you look this over. But there is no way to avoid the embassy visit, and that is either Bangkok or Chaing Mai. And you need a appointment and 50 bucks last I checked. They have info on their website.

I do believe that most CR-1 marriage petitions / visas will work this way in the future.  
 

In summary:

 

* Neither of the two engaged partners  have to be residents of Utah or physical present in Utah to get married. 
 

* The two  partners do not have to be in each other’s physical presence to get married.  
 

* requirement is to have the zoom app on your device and an internet connection.   
 

* after getting married you must meet in person before you file I-130 and you must be able to document it.  This is called consummation.  Whether there is actual sexual intercourse is a matter of prurience USCIS and the consulate doesn’t care about.  
 

Nevada better up its game pronto.
