My mother in law’s IR5 visa application was DQ in October of 2019 and we are still waiting for the interview. We did just get a message on Wednesday saying they are expediting the case to the consulate in CDJ and that CDJ will be contacting us soon. We never asked for it to be expedited either. In my opinion the verbiage “soon” could be anything in the next 2 weeks to 2 months.

That's great news! I hope you get your interview soon! It makes me chuckle a little that they are "expediting" your case though when you've been waiting since October 2019, nothing quick about that ;) I'm glad you're moving forward!

Yes we laughed at that too considering the case would have already been issued an interview and done by now if it wasn’t due to the shutdowns at the beginning of the pandemic.

For beneficiaries waiting in Mexico, they're working on cases with CC September/October 2019. And for beneficiaries waiting in the US, they're working on cases with CC June/July 2019.

Thank you, this is great to know! Where can I find this info for the future, I've looked and have never been able to find what case/dates they are currently working on.

There isn't an official place, but there is a Facebook group that you can join called "Citas al Consulado Americano en Ciudad Juárez - GRUPO". Members typically announce when they receive their appointments and, more or less, give you an idea when you'll receive yours.

NVC assigned a bunch of interviews last week. So far the trend has been that NVC will assign interviews, go silent for 1-2 weeks, then assign some more.
