one thing you should know immigration gives out 50,000 visas but they choose more than 50,000 to interview

 

many winners  can not pass interview as they can not produce the documents to support their education or work experience claims

or documents are false

or family issues make it impossible to accept 

or sudden illness makes it impossible to travel 

 

and your posts begs to wonder how she could check to see if she won if she used her own name / it wouldn't have been there

To be fair to the poster, these “agents” in Ghana have a terrible reputation. They charge people for entering then are careless with the information, or convince them certain things will be ok if they do something now (leaving off child because living elsewhere and they can’t get a picture or use a fake picture, use a false passport etc) and that it can be fixed if selected, etc. then of course if they get selected suddenly the agent is no help because they already got their fees. These guys are not even as bad as the agents that keep confirmation numbers then blackmail the winners if they want them to proceed, thankfully KCC now has a workaround for these cases because it was getting such a problem. Conmen are good at convincing people.

DV only takes 5 mins. Then you have to confirm details.  Which begs 2 questions:

 

1. Wrong information was entered. 

2. The beneficiary didn't confirm to check if details were right?

 

I never believe these agent stories. Ghana is a tech powerhouse, meaning a lot of population have access to smartphone etc. Twitter wouldn't have selected Ghana as their African base if this wasn't the case. As such, I don't believe these agant stories.

US consulate actually has a warning about these guys, so they think there’s a problem even if you don’t,  but you believe whatever you want to believe, including that every single person in any African country has the kind of tech access that you do just because the capital has a tech company headquartered there.

to OP and others trying for next year's dv lottery

the application is free

you do  not have to pay anyone to do it

 

and it is clear under the DV lottery rules

 

Again, you should consider not pursuing a DV application if you do not meet the qualifying education or work experience requirements explained above, or if you provided an invalid passport number with your entry or selected an exemption for which you do not qualify.  Such errors may render you ineligible for a diversity visa and any fees you pay for the visa application will not be refunded.

Too bad for her, this kind of mistakes are easy to avoid , i don't know why people still made mistakes while writing thier informations , also it's so easy to sign in dv lottery by yourself , there are planty of videos on youtube explain everything . i hope she can resolve and get her visa , best of luck.
