My sister won DV 2022,the passport number and expiring date are totally wrong, will this be a problem continuing with the process?

The person who inter the infos mistakenly put another person passport number with her name and submit before realizing. And now she has been selected for further processing

Yes, it will be a problem. The rules are very clear about this.

 ... If your passport number changes for any reason, you will have to provide evidence of why it has changed to KCC before they will schedule your DV interview. If you enter a false, inaccurate, or invalid passport number on your DV entry, you will be ineligible for a DV. ....

DV takes 5 mins and only asks for basic info. So you're saying your sister couldn't handle that herself and someone did on her behalf? I don't believe that. Additionally, she failed to verify 0.5 page document?

Sorry, I do not believe this story. Seems to me wrong information was submitted intentionally but she ended up being selected. She may have just shot herself here.

Yes, it will be a problem because there's so much fraud due to people abusing the immigration system. She'll have to prove that passport number was hers; which obviously she won't be able to.

There are agencies that take the correct passport picture format and go ahead enter the informations right away for you ,if you want them to.

We see this exact story week in week out on VJ that I always call it early. So being rude to me isn't gonna help you. You're not gonna fool anyone with this story, sorry. Infact, someone else just posted supporting my post.

I think it is likely the  US State Department will not accept this explanation.  
 

State will suspect deliberate misuse of another’s passport.  

 

My suggestion is to not apply for DV again until the incorrect passport has expired.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t matter whether it was an honest mistake or not. She will be disqualified under the entry rules whihc I posted earlier.

 

She can re-enter in October with her correct passport details, please have her do it herself. The forums are full of all sorts of horror stories about how agents in Ghana especially mess up the process and/or try extort winners.

Hi, I just wanted to pop in and say that I hope this works out for your sister.  DV selections are a big deal.  Fingers crossed for you!!

an agency can not correct as the person applying is required to swear upon signing the application that the information is true 

when u ask for an answer,  and immigration tells us the rules ,  we are going to say what we have seen in the past

 

it is not us judging / it will be the embassy following their guidelines and rules

and i am so sorry for anyone that won and probably will not get the visa

 

one thing you should know immigration gives out 50,000 visas but they choose more than 50,000 to interview

 

many winners  can not pass interview as they can not produce the documents to support their education or work experience claims

or documents are false

or family issues make it impossible to accept 

or sudden illness makes it impossible to travel 

 

and your posts begs to wonder how she could check to see if she won if she used her own name / it wouldn't have been there
