Reasons to get an RFE for I-485

Hi,

Does anyone know why someone would get RFE for form I-485? I see no updates on EAD or travel documents but I-485. I had K1 married a USC. I am confused because for the longest that status was 'Biometrics Fee Received'. It can't be a signature or leaving some boxes empty as I wrote N/A with a pen after printing them out.. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

There are many reasons for getting an RFE.  You will know the specific reason when you get the letter from USCIS.

Are you asking because you actually received a notice from USCIS that they will send you an RFE letter, or because you don't see any updates on your case?  If it is the latter, AOS has been taking over a year on average.  EAD/AP has been taking 6-12 months.

The main reason to get an RFE for I485 (provided you did actually get one and you aren't asking hypothetically because your case is taking a "long" time) is for insufficient documents for your I864 or filling out the I864 incorrectly.

You shouldn't be in here guessing though.

You should wait for the RFE if you actually got a notification for one (which is not clear in your hypothetical post).

Read the post carefully before somehow deducting that I am asking this hypothetically. It says RFE is sent on I-485 status. I was just asking for an insight here. Thanks for the attitude.

Your post says nothing like that.

Please review your own post.  Nowhere does it state "RFE is sent on I-485 status".   It states "Reasons to get an RFE...", and "Does anyone know why someone would get RFE".   Some people do ask for hypothetical situations here.  I was asking if you received an actual RFE notice or was wondering if you might get one.

I understand the immigration process is stressful.  We are here to help.  And it helps us help you if detailed information is provided, like if you did receive an RFE notice, then please actually state so, and provide other information like method of delivery (email I assume?) and what the text actually states.
