As opposed to the mental gymnastics justifying the racist actions of the BLM/Antifa never ending "peaceful" protests?   The manufactured outrage is hilarious.

Ah yeah, gotta love the whattaboutism. In all honesty I was troubled at the damage that was incurred during the BLM/Antifa protests. However, one must realize one of these protests were about a group of marginalized people literally being murdered by police, and the other about some people salty that their orange messiah failed to win an election. So we are somewhat comparing apples to oranges here...but whatever, critical thinking isn't too strong for those throwing out the whataboutism argument.

Riots/Mayhem/Property Damage/etc. is what it is regardless of the group(s) behind it.  This person (the topic of the OP), is a GOP member, so I am not really sure what we would expect, but we see the same thing from all the elite idiot overlords in DC.  Hypocrisy is an Olympic event there.

Your statement is a gross oversimplification of the facts. One appeared to be a (poorly organized) attempt at a coup. Soooooo...I dunno when I see people immediately retort regarding the outrage at the Jan 6th events with 'well what about BLM' and not recognize the differing circumstance and imply that the magahats were more justified in their actions than BLM were, I'm gonna be less than impressed than that.

While I don't encourage violence and destruction at all, I'm not surprised that's the reaction from people who have been ignored time and time again, who are getting killed and disproportionately impacted by the justice system and society as a whole. And at the same time, there where tonnes of white people who were either denying racism exists or even advocating ethnically cleansing them from the US.

On the other hand, Jan 6th was a case of violence and destruction from a bunch of sore losers who were the same ones mocking people in 2016 with 'liberal tears', 'snowflakes' and the like. These are people who think that the Government overthrew Trump despite the GOP having two out of three pillars of Government and a Supreme Court Majority. It's absolutely pathetic. Trump has serious personality issues where he cannot process a loss, he is a man who is obsessed with winning, and he transposed that onto his supporters which threatened the democratic process. The revisionism that is going on within the GOP regarding the events of that day are extremely concerning because it indicates that a repeat of Jan 6th isn't off the cards. That should be concerning to all true American patriots.

Okay, what about the uprisings in Eastern Europe against the Communist Regimes? Or the Hong Kong protests? The Arab Spring? Are you blind to all circumstances?

My point here is blindly not considering facts and circumstances is pretty poor lack of judgement.

If we are comparing all political uprisings, I am not sure the Jan. 6th riots compare except that they are protesting oppressive regimes.

I will take note of that. :)

But no, I wasn't referring to public figures here...no public figure is stupid enough to be outwardly racist in this day and age; those that do end up being on the fringes or end up cutting their careers short. But there are many such people within the rank and file citizenry who make up all aspects of society...herein lies the problem.

Anyway. I think I will leave it at that. I've said what I've wanted to say. -gets off soapbox-

Unless you are saying the US government is an oppressive regime.  Not really sure it is, even given the number of idiots in DC.  Btw, Twitter is a cesspool, never used it, never will.

Ahem, I'll leave this clarification in and drop out from this thread. No, I do not recognize the US Government as oppressive, although it has uh...concerning tendencies. However, certain institutions in society have been proven to be oppressive, or at least strongly lacking accountability. My overarching point was, you can't point blank dismiss riots are riots that are political in nature without giving due consideration of the circumstances, whether you agree with the circumstance or not. :)

Agreed on Twitter being a cesspit. xD

Same here.  In addition, rather recently, study results revealed that (something like?  at least?) 80% of posts are made by 20% of the members (or maybe it was 90% by 10%).  Perhaps someone will be good enough to research that and post exact numbers.

Agreed on Twitter being a cesspit. xD

When riots are based on a lie they are wrong.  DC was wrong, and all the riots in Portland, etc., are also wrong unless you have evidence of institutional racism and not just a feeling.

I am old enough to remember when Trump sent federal agents to protect federal buildings from the massive violence and looting of the BLM riots and it created an outrage among the left and local mayors.
