Hi all

We received our NOA2 today in the mail and it states:

‘The above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate’.

No where on the letter states it has been sent to the NVC.  I thought that this would be sent straight to NVC before consulate.  Unless I’m misunderstanding, can someone help?

The consulate is the same as nvc call your embassy and give them the case number

So does that mean it’s been sent to the NVC and not London Embassy?  Sorry I’ve been so confused 🤷

NVC is the handoff place between USCIS (petition)  and the Department of State (NVC and embassy)that issues visas through the Embassy. A K1 passes through NVC to get assigned a new Dept of State case number. Your number will start with LND for London. NVC will notify the petitioner of the case number and when they forward to London. London will notify the beneficiary when they receive the petition and also provide the new LNDXXXXXXXXXX number.

Don’t do this below that was suggested.

NOA2 - this is going to NVC

Minimal processing happens. If consulate is accepting K1 visas, NVC then sends application to the US Embassy or Consulate.

You will know that your application is sent tp the embassy by  an e-mail from NVC stating as such or by giving the NVC nonimmigration line a call. Most of my calls have been 30 min wait times.

Grossly incorrect; the NVC is a completely separate facility from any embassy or consulate.

Your NOA2 is the notice received when your petition itself was approved. The petition is sent to the NVC where you will be assigned a Case # (this process can take a few weeks) and it will remain there until forwarded to the consulate or embassy where the beneficiary will have their appointment. The petition will stay at NVC until the embassy is ready to schedule. This process takes time, you can check the status of your petition online once you receive your NVC case number.

If you're still confused I highly recommend calling. They always answered any uncertainty I had at the NVC level.
