It is a Kroger gas station and the uniform might be Kroger.  She has been properly trained on double-bagging.

 

in 2004, in Florida, we had gas shortages after 3 hurricanes rolled through that summer.  I witnessed 3 guys in a pickup truck fill a large plastic garbage can with gasoline, to the brim.  Not sure if Darwin caught up with them but I got the heck out of there ASAP!

This is from 2019 and is not related to this month's events (it was when they had the ice storm and outage), it made its rounds on twitter a lot I remember. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7784271/Woman-pumps-gas-plastic-bag-puts-trunk-car.html Simply put the author in the article did not do their research and took for granted that a joke post about the current shortage was somehow real/related. It's going to need a Snopes article soon.

People panic buy all the time.  There will be more from this episode.  Charlotte NC is already at over 70% of gas stations out of fuel.

It looks like this fire was mostly in the front end (potentially an engine compartment fire).  I only saw one other picture showing the inside rear end where there was damage, but it is hard to pinpoint the Point of Origin.  It might have been just bad luck.

We do know who did it, we already said who did it. And if today's sources are correct the whole thing started with an idiot deciding it was a good idea to click a link in his email advertising for him to see ladies with "big cans." You know the sort I mean. Nothing that the malware/ransomware compromised actually had anything to do with the pipeline or critical systems or even prevented the pipeline from functioning. They could have kept running it no problem. It was the billing system. And the fact they paid out $5 million in return for an unlocking key that didn't even work properly shows how stupid the entire company is. Inept stupidity from someone supplying critical infrastructure with very little in the way of redundant protection systems. Phishing emails, scams, and links.... old tricks that work, because there are so many stupid people.
