Hi everyone ,

I have been waiting for the notice of oath ceremony for a month since my interview. The officer approved my application the next day. I requested name change during my interview.

I know it might delay the oath ceremony date . So I sent the request to wirhdraw my name change request and requested USCIS to put me in the no name change queue ceremony.

Could anyone please share your experience of no name change oath ceremony ? What is like? Did you also get sworn in with other 10 or 20 people in a big room ? Were you checked in by an individual immigration officer in his or her office when you arrived the local USCIS office? Or were you sent to the ceremonial room upon your arrival ? How many immigration officers will be there to administer the oath ?

Thank you very much in advance !

during normal times and no way is anything normal

LA does 5000 at a time as seen on their wepage (as an example of #'s)

1st you did not have to ask for undoing the name change   that's not affecting the oath ceremony (times just aren't normal)

2nd  we had notice to go (1 visitor only) to court house

judge did the ceremony after many special invited speakers talked about the history of US and immigrants

our judge pronouned who would be getting name changes and personally handed out the document of naturalization

news media there

all in all nice ceremony

USCIS officer there to manage all with recording who didn't show up

outside the courtroom they gave out applications for passports and registering to vote

100 people at our ceremony

NOW?  many different ways including same day as interview

these are crazy times

Mine was right after the interview. Took the oath, surrendered the GC, grabbed certificate, voter registration and passport application forms and was out. The whole process took about an hour including the interview, wait and oath. That was last September, USCIS center in Charlotte NC
