I don't understand what intelligence or education has to do with a ribbon *shrug* I must be one of the less intelligent and educated ones.

I'm more inclined to believe that someone with a ribbon on their car is supporting one of their own, being family or friend. Likewise with a Pink ribbon.

I have more respect for someone with a ribbon magnet on their car than those lovely "little boys peeing on the logo of the car manufacturer they hate" stickers.

And would I put one of those ribbons on my car? No.

-I do not think that has any bearing on intelligence or educational attainment

-Yes, why not

-Yes, b/c the question said would I ever put one on my car. I don't have one and probably won't put one on, but maybe one day I would want to, who knows.

I'm not sure what intelligence has to do with having a ribbon on your car.

I think most people are worthy of my respect, so yes, but not because they have a ribbon on their car.

I don't have one now, but I might someday, maybe.

Intelligence has nothing to do with whether or not someone has that kind of bumper sticker, IMO.

I was unsure how to vote for the second one. I don't respect ppl any more or less because they have a "support our troups" bumper sticker on their car.

I do not have a "support our troops" bumper sticker and I prolly would never have one. I'm not a wear my patriotism on my sleeve kinda gal.

I think that it does have something to do with intelligence. I think if you have one on your car you have been swept up by this "support your troops or you are a trader", and in that respect I think you have turned off your mental senses and just said, this sounds good, too hard to think about it rationally, i will agree with this.

It is saying support the war and not saying support your troops at all. It is saying fight till the end. And as we are seeing now, that is not supporting the troops. It is asking for them to put their life on the line at all times. To me that is not supporting them. Cause really how did we get into this bloodbath? For what reason? Is it still the same reason as the beginning?

  3. Possibly, I would (the back of my car is blank), so I had to vote "yes"

Gupt, you needed to put a "maybe" or "undecided" choice on the last one.

I bet there are some who have it on the back of their cars who do not support the Iraq war, but could have a relative in the army (as others said) or a friend. And not all the troups are involved in Iraq anyway. What about Afghanistan? That was a war everyone seemed to agree on, so how do you know they aren't supporting the men in Afghanistan. Just trying to bring more perspective to this.

To say that a person who has one on their car could not be worthy of respect is also outlandish to me. Again, what if they had a relative die in the war, how can one say absolutely that just b/c of that sticker they could not be worthy of someone's respect. How much I respect that person has nothing to do with the sticker on their car, I'd have to meet them before making that decision.

I completely disagree with you. Supporting the Troops is not a blanket message of supporting the current war in Iraq. To me, it means what it says.

Well I am wondering what you think about this, beside for an almost non-existent percentage of sick people, do you think anyone wants to see any harm done to our troops? So to me, it meaning what it says, it does not. And I guess the more I have thought about that saying, over the past years, I guess, support your troops, I do not, I do not find this war very noble or honest in the least, and really i believe it is alot of innocent deaths that are happening needlessly. But to ever say I would wish harm pon them or any other person that is caught in this bloodbath I would not!

I don't think having that sticker means wishing harm on them.

Anyway, I don't mean to be so nit picky but are you saying that during war, no one should say they support troups---troups who volunteered to join the military(no one forced them), some doing it while they know what is going on in Iraq? Shouldn't we at least support them, meaning wish for their well-being while in bad circumstances.
